This is something that needs to be discussed more of when talking about what seperates Wilson from RG3 and Luck. He's a true field general, player-coach.
I dont doubt that RG3 and Luck are smart, but I just don't see any player in the NFL saves P. Manning studying as much film as Wilson. This is all speculation of course.
Having played college football, I can assure you that players dread watching film. It's sooooooo boring. It takes true dedication to be able to continuously study film like an addict.
I think there is a lot more to it then speculation.

this is from September, i went back and hunted it down because it is something that stood out to me at the time, the Peyton Comparison surrounding his study habits. I love the baller in Wilson, because the kid can ball, and his game is way different then Peyton's, but while Wilson can ball, his preparation for the game and his business like approach to things really stands out.
From this article:
Wilson also visited with Colts quarterback coach Clyde Christensen, who previously coached Peyton Manning. Christensen shared Peyton's notes with Wilson, and they were similar to the kind of notes Wilson takes. Wilson keeps a diary of every practice on an Excel worksheet.
Guys like Madden are connected to the NFL inner circle, so I am sure his Peyton like impression of Wilson comes from more then the kind of media buzz we get a hold of... Madden is the kind of guy in football that can call up anybody he wants and he will get a hold of whomever it was he was calling. I am sure I could leave Pete Carroll messages all day and never hear back from him... and all I mean by that is there is more to really know about these guys then I will ever likely see. I am sure combined with whatever rumors Madden gets to hear about and his listening in on him really helps makes him compelled to put that kind of conversation in play.
