I mean it's worth a shot?, but Sundell might not be strong enough to play RG, and if Sundell is keeping Olu on the bench and Sundell isn't playing great this might just mean we downgraded both positions. I think John should hits those phones hard this week and try to pull off a trade to upgrade the RG spot and hopefully Sundell can improve...

Move Sundell to right guard. Bring Olu Oluwatimi off the bench and put him at center. Bradford to the bench.

I’m not arguing but moving Sundell out of a position that I think he’s been very good at to fix one problem could create two (or three). Center would be new, Sundell has to adjust, and so does Zabel to a new center. I’m not sure I’m comfortable.

The problem is Sundell's play at center hasn't been that stellar either. Compared to Bradford he's playing better but who isn't.

Fair enough. I worry about the consistency though making some changes when we’re 5-2 and borderline 7-0.

I’ve been contemplating lately what it would take to pry Damien Lewis back from the Panthers.

Considering Darnold is quality enough to be the franchise QB and has 2 years left and Lock is okay as a backup for this team with 1 year left but could easily be re-signed as his family likes the area.

Bradford and/or Haynes + Milroe?

Drew Lock since Young is now injured. Drew Lock and 2026 4th round pick for Damien Lewis.

2 different positions, and just because Sundell isn't playing as bad as Bradford doesn't mean Sundell can step in at RG and play well, I believe the only real option is to upgrade the RG spot, and i don't mean we need an all pro RG we just need need a player that's above average and a one year rental until next offseason...

PFF has Lewis as the 12th best Guard in the nfl that 4th might need to be a 3rd. 😬, But it might be worth it if we can start running the ball and improve on the Oline he's only 28 and might get 3 more good years out of him... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honestly, I feel Sundell’s struggles tend to go hand in hand with Bradford’s struggles. Same with Lucas on occasion if Bradford whiffs on his blocks it creates opportunities for defenders to expose that gap and if the OL around Bradford has to overcompensate they’ve all ready lost.

When Bradford was solid in the Pre-Season, Sundell looked promising to good with Lucas looking dominant to elite.

Real season Bradford has been horrible in what feels like 75% of his snaps and Sundell has looked mostly overwhelmed with occasional solid reps mixed in and Lucas has looked only solid to good but not really dominant or elite thus far.

Get a bonafide RG and this Oline should take a big step up in consistency and performance.

Thank god for Zabel though, this offense likely wouldn’t be even half as good as it is right now if he wasnt playing like a veteran at a Pro Bowl level.

I feel the same, Sundell isn't horrible, and Lucus is definitely not having the same effect as the preseason the only common denominator is Bradford and he has been hot ass so far this year....

Especially for sundell
Just put olu at guard for a series and see what happens
Can't be worse than 3 straight runs up the middle

Does Lewis even fit this scheme?

Even simpler idea. Just go get someone better than Bradford in a trade. They're there to be had.

We have a middle-of-the pack line with what are essentially two rookie starters. And it's one of the youngest in league. It's trending upwards.

But yeah, Bradford is infuriating sometimes.

We have the means to get a guy. We don't for some reason. I would also say maybe Olu could play guard. Bradford is so clumsy and stupid he is taking our own guys out. Maybe Bradforn has potential.....some good plays. IDK.

Unrealized potential isn't worth anything. Kubiak is under a mandate of run the damn rock. I don't know how one does it with broken toys.

The trade deadline is coming. We will see how serious the Hawks are. Besides the talking heads top choices of near retirement and injury concern players there has to be some talent out there.

It's a mystery to me why we haven't made a trade to upgrade our IOL yet. We're one of the worst teams in the league in rushing yards per carry. That's pretty much a clear indictment of our run blocking, especially considering that we're one of the better passing teams in the league. We're not getting enough push, not opening enough holes for our backs. That's going to become a concern when we're playing the better teams in the league.

It's not that difficult to get a significant upgrade for a guard like Bradford. It doesn't take trading for an All-Pro to do it. Just a proven vet at or near the end of their contract and playing on a non-contending team. There's a handful of players out there that fall into that category that would immediately improve us. Let's make a deal.
