Statistically a physical team actually experiences less injuries. Being a soft team under Tim Ruskell certainly didn't keep anyone healthy.

Percy Harvin: Tate with speed.

This is why Harvin's idea of 100% is far different than many other players.

Dude doesn't have a 2nd gear... It's 1st to 5th every down for him.

It's incredible how much this guy will improve our offense. He makes one move and is gone 10 yards until the next defender.

If he isn't getting 100+ all purpose yards a game we aren't using him right.

Not saying he needs 15 targets a game like AJ Green/Megatron but screens, read option, deep play action pass, kick returns, reverses, slants in the middle of the field, etc. He excels at all of them.

The beautiful thing about that is Harvin could register zero yards statistically on the field and still account for more than the 100+ yards your calling for.

Someone recently posted a thread from the one game he played in this year where Baldwin beat his guy on the outside and the Vikings safety should have slid over to help but he was so focused on Harvin he completely missed Baldwin for about a 40 yard gain. Actually the ball was under thrown by Wilson. Had he hit Baldwin in stride it was a 70+ yard TD. If it was Tate it was probably still a TD do to his ability to shake a single defender and there was no one else around.

The guy tilts the field. No better way to describe him.

Love the play at 3:09 and 3:45 a fake end-around to screen pass. Seems like we could adopt that one and make very good use of it in the NFCCG if we beat NO.

Really hope he can give our offense a much needed spark. We won't go very far if they don't perform better.

I just had visions of Harvin and Lynch in the backfield and have a smile a mile wide.

Watched that video at the beginning of the year, Percy is a playmaker. One thing I noticed in the highlight real this time around is the timing Favre had with Percy and how many time Favre hit PH on the dead run on a swing pass out of the backfield or on slant routes. I don't know why, but timing routes are not this teams forte. The Hawks and RW need to develop / use / excel at timing routes but it isn't a factor in the offense. Re watch that the highlight video and watch Favre, he would look in a different direction then rifle it to PH. PH had a good 5 - 10 yard cushion on a lot of those receptions. Not trying to water down the enthusiasm but I wonder if RW can give PH the room he needs to do his thing after he catches the ball.

Farve? Don't you mean Ponder? Ponder sucks and Russell Wilson doesn't. We will be fine. lol.

That's pretty much the characterization I've had of him to this point; however, an additional element jumps out of this video. I've always went with the 'Tate with speed' description, but now I'd have to say he's a speedier Tate with some Marshawn sprinkled in. Holy cow! Tate's not afraid of contact, but his biggest game is elusiveness and he doesn't beast out by seeking contact at the end of runs. LAWDY!

That wasn't Favre; that was Ponder. Favre's jersey no. is 4, ROOKIE!

Seriously though, if our OC emphasized that part of the game, we'd be a lot better at it. Must be that either Pete or our Bevel is not a big fan of those those of plays, and the short-passing game in general. One reason why Minnesota is so proficient at is because Ponder doesn't have enough arm for the deep routes. :th2thumbs:

The problem with our approach of using play action to set up deep shots is that it's very predictable and easily defended with the right personnel. Oh well, maybe the evolution to a more rounded out passing game will happen some day :?

That God awful music killed my whole Percy vibe

If you put the birds and the bees at the end it is one way to make sure that no one will close the video down for copy right infringement.

I'm still with you, "WTF, over?" on the music

He seems a lot more fluid in his moves than Tate is, I might be dumb though.

Don't judge me.

I can't wait for him to blow up this weekend.

So much crow will be eaten here.

Here is the thing with Percy, he demands a cushion by the corners. If you press him he will break the press and find space behind the defense and that is a touchdown. That is why the bubble screen works so well with him and is a first down nearly every time it is called. The guy moves the chains. If he is healthy, this offense will be unstoppable.
