I’m most disappointed he’s shopping at Target. There is no reason for a guy to go target without being dragged there by his wife. And even then I’d rather wait in the car.

I'll take Big Cat, Spoon and Murph all day, everyday, and twice on sunday. The gap between Carter and Williams isnt as big as the one between Spoon and whoever else would be playing his spot right now if we hadnt have drafted him. Dude is literally everywhere on the field all the time making plays.

And Murphy is just getting rolling. In a year's time, he could be every bit as good as Carter.

Look at all the Witherspoon copers in this thread. Guys. The more time progresses the more you will realize we missed ANOTHER star on the defensive line. Three years from now there will finally be consensus on this matter, we drafted the wrong guy again. Period.

Carter was full of red flags when he was drafted. What would have happened if we had drafted him is pure speculation, there is no guarantee he would perform for us like he has for the Eagles. He could quite easily have been someone who didn't think he needed to train hard now he was in the NFL (a la Jonny Manziel) or had a career ending injury while racing his car.

He also has a lot of ex Bulldog players and teammates there. One can’t help but think that helped to straighten him out a bit.

Any other team, including Seattle, may not have been as fortunate.

I hard to tell. But, we weren’t the only team to second guess that pick.

Besides, our ‘consolation prize’ is pretty damn good and out of that first round from that draft, is ranked way up there.

That was one of the better first round drafts Ive seen in recent years so…Stroud, Anderson, Gibbs, Carter, Spoon, Gonzales, Robinson…

With the fifth pick, I don’t think JS would’ve made a mistake no matter what happened in the first four picks (unless Bryce Young or AR would’ve fell…and JS bit…that would’ve sucked).

This right here. Hindsight is 20/20.

Odds are that Carter probably would have turned out OK, but you just can't gamble with a top 10 pick when you were in the position that we were and as much baggage that Carter had. The Eagles were on top of the world when they drafted Carter with the #9 overall, so they were in a spot where they weren't dependent on that pick to rebuild their franchise. Their coach and GM also had a lot of good will accumulated and a busted pick wouldn't have been held against them like it would with a lesser team.

And we aren't the only team who passed on Carter. Talent wise, he should have been a top 3, perhaps #1 overall, but he slid to the #9 pick. But the Raiders, Cards, Falcons, and Bears had a chance to draft him and said no.

Witherspoon was more of a sure thing and filled a position of need. I'm completely content with who we got with that pick.
