What are your guys's thoughts? I thought he was a pretty big impact today, the stats might not say it but the run D looked night and day compared to last year, he had a PD and a sack but he was also in Dalton's face getting pressure on some plays I saw while also contributing to QJeff's sacks. Great debut from JC

Hawks would've lost without him.

He was big, in that his presence and the fact they would often double him allowed others to do more.

Will be interesting to see how he continues to impact games as the season progresses once the coaching staff begins utilizing him in specific defensive packages.

I too think we lose without him there. I'm happy with what I saw from him, especially considering he's been here a week or so.

It was a pretty typical Clowney performance. Crazy good against the run, a game wrecker.

Average on his 1 on 1 pass rush opportunities.

Overall though he has a great impact on a play per play basis even though at times it won't show up on the stat sheet.

I am expecting him to get 10 sacks on the year. 1 down, 9 more to go.

His presence was felt. Having him on that line is a game changer.

Clowney made Jefferson look like a star. It may not be his stats, but because of his double-teams, someone is going to get the stats.

I can not just wait for Reed and Ziggy. That's when this front four will be licking their chops. You'll see

And when they can mix in a healthy Collier too. What a rotation.

It was a terrible O-line he was up against, but he made his hay, more disruptive even than Q-Jeff really. I'm looking forward to getting Ziggy and Collier in there. That'll be a lineup that can challenge even real lines.

Stats don't show how disruptive he was. He was doubled pretty much all day long and still made an impact. And that's w/very little practice time.

So much this.

Clowney said he was "rusty"..............so I look forward to seeing him when he's not rusty, cause he was a force yesterday. The stat line only shows two tackles and a sack, but he was a disruption the entire game, splitting double teams and causing havok in the backfield.

I do think we would have been in BIG trouble yesterday without him.

Loved seeing Clowney out there yesterday! Guy is an absolute stud! My only question is why did he continue to jump inside the tackle? I know he burnt the tackle bad on it at least once, but typically the DE has to keep outside contain. One play that I remember is Clowney went inside, Dalton scrambled out of the pocket, but Clowney had enough speed to catch him for the sack out of bounds.

I mean there is only that one guy who had reservation on the trade....

I was happy with just a one year rental, but after yesterday he was very disruptive & allow the other players to really shine...Way more impact than i saw of Clark. If he can keep this up, im hoping we can sign him.

Cant wait to see Ziggy, Colier, & Reed...

From where I sit, I had a real good look at how many times he not only was being double teamed, but held. He was held on almost every snap. He just is a very strong, instinctive football player. It's impressive, and he's just getting started.

They were hooking and holding him half the night.

Twice, I saw him being bear hugged from behind.

And even so, he made an impact. Clark was very good but streaky. I saw Clowney making impact all night, in freeing guys like Jefferson to make plays.

We need to ratchet down expectations though. Part of the reason there was so much impact was this was a patchwork line that the Bengals were fielding. It will probably be one of the worst OL we face this year. Still, he looks like a great addition.
