Offense passing: 28th 160.5 ypg
Offense rushing: 30th 52.5 ypg

Defense passing: 2nd 142.5 ypg
(After playing Alex Smith 198 ypg prior to Philly and Terrelle Pryor 171.5 ypg)
Defense rushing: 31st 173.5 ypg

I think that 2nd ranking for passing defense might be a bit misleading because they haven't faced any teams that throw a lot. In the same vein, their rush defense might not be as bad as 31 because of all the running that KC and Oakland do.

Here are the pass vs run ratios for KC (127.3 rush ypg) and Oakland (198.5 rush ypg)

KC/Jacksonville 34 pass/27 run
KC/Dallas 36 pass/25 run

Oak/Indy 29 pass/33 run
Oak/Jacksonville 24 pass/34 run

Looking at that I would hope that we run the ball a lot :D

Pretty good chance we're going to exceed both those defensive rankings.

And I bet we're under their offensive ones. (Which are truly offensive, I suppose.)

Soon, that pass rating will a lot worse. Pryor and Smith didn't really provide much test for Bradley's pass D which is similar in pressing the edges. Besides, running on them was too easy not to do it a lot.

I'd actually like to see Russell have an insane day passing.

One game in the 400 yard range would be just the ticket to get him through this little dip he's got going on.

I woudln't be surprised if we rush for over 300 yards as a team.

Why does it matter if he throws for 50 yards or 700 yards? As long as they are winning, I don't care how they do it. Russell is doing his job fine, IMO. He threw for 320 yards in week 1. Last week he didn't throw for many but I wouldn't call it a dip. SF has a top 5 defense plus stormy weather conditions could have been a factor in that.

I think terrible teams often have good pass defense stats, because their opponents spend a lot of time running the clock.
