team's offense getting the football! Man I love our defense and because of them I am excited when they get the opportunity to trash the opposing team's QB/RB/WRs/TEs/Offensive Linemen and hell, maybe even crash the sidelines and take out a coach or two :p

There have been times in the past when I felt this way but it's so refreshing to experience it again. To take a line from JJ Watt, "Shut you down!" Here's hoping we can keep this core together for a long time! :th2thumbs:

Edit to add current standings per nfl.com:
Rushing 5th place 91.0 YPG
Passing 3rd place 190.6 YPG
Overall 2nd 282.1 YPG
Points 16.6

Turnover ratio +7 which is excellent considering all the turnovers our offense has had.

This is a good post.

Something I love about this team is that I don't feel a threat when the opposition is on offense, I feel an opportunity coming on.

Even after a decent drive into Seahawks territory, I sometimes feel optimistic that something great is about to happen.

Contrast:
-When I'm watching my beleaguered Cougars play, I HOPE for a big turnover, or a stop that will shift momentum.
-When I'm watching the Seahawks, I BELIEVE a big turnover or momentum shift is about to occur.

People say defense isn't sexy, but I beg to differ; I think it's just that so few defenses are sexy, most people have forgotten what a sexy defense really looks like.

Most teams try to go for high-octane offenses and put fewer resources into the defense; there are fewer elite defenses than elite offenses. Browner's pick 6 from deep in our own end zone a few games back, 107 yards or whatever it was, was every bit as sexy as any long TD bomb I can recall seeing, IMO.

I love seeing the opposing quarterback launch the ball down the right sideline. I expect a pick or, at the least, an incomplete pass and wasted down. Just about any other year I would be terrified to see the long ball thrown. Fun stuff.
