Is there still a scenario...

...no matter how unlikely...Where they win the division with a win next week and the strength of schedule tiebreakers all falling the Seahawk's way?

Yes, there is, but the Broncos already screwed us with one of the games we needed for that scenario.

The unlikely victories we need though are:

Atlanta over Washington

New York over Buffalo

New England over Buffalo

Chicago over Green Bay

Green Bay over Minnesota

Denver over Kansas City

There are a handful of other games that affect our chances, too, but these are the ones we need the upset. We can afford two games to go against us, but not three.

Odds are pretty crap.

The season is over. I don't even have the energy to post the Jim Carrey Dumb and Dumber meme.

Is there anything more pathetic as a fan than having to hope for outcomes beyond the control of your team to slither into the playoffs?

Watching Kyler Murray throw away our season on that overthrown ball instead of just handing the ball off up the middle felt about as bad as any football moment I've ever experienced.

I know this was much earlier in the game but when they had fourth and one from like the 15 yard line, I was saying they should’ve just taken the points. They went for it and didn’t get it on fourth down though. Coaches today just take way too many chances.

So you're saying there's not a chance when there really is a chance. I can see why you'd want to post a Dumb and Dumber meme with that.

Yeah, I knew--since it was OUR season on the line--there was no way it wasn't getting picked off.

Oh, they should have absolutely taken the points, but coaches make decisions differently when post-season chances are gone. I knew they were going to go for it and knew that it would be one of the handful of times the Rams defense would actually get a stop on a running play.

The Rams would have lost to the Jets, too, if they weren't playing fast and loose on fourth down all game long.

It's one of those things, would we have lost to the Giants if we had to face them in Week 17 with their season over instead of Week 5?

Best thing is to sit a lot of starters against the Rams, and lose the game. Why make the playoffs, we need the edge of the better draft position. IF you want a good Seahawk team, it starts with a great draft, and that means closest to number 1 you can get.

I'll let the more practical fans root that way. I just can't.

You're right, but be prepared to be blasted by delusional fans who think we'll lose the chance of having a "winning culture" if we don't go balls to the wall to win a week 18 game against the Rams backups. They also think that it's necessary for "momentum" for games that won't be played for another eight months.

Id probably rather not watch the Hawks get donkey punched by a wild card team at home in January.

I personally wouldn't point to winning culture and momentum as reasons for carrying at all about winning in week 18.

But I am curious why fans who don't see things a particular way (possibly your way?) are delusional? Isn't everyone's Fandom (perspective, etc) simply different?
