I'm encouraged by Fleury so far

I see Fleury's hiring as an addition by addition because this will be Darnold's third offensive coordinators in three consecutive seasons, and he has flourished with the last two, both different, yet still having a positive effect on his progression; Fleury will add yet another layer to Darnold's repertoire and Darnold might just be able to help offer up some insight on plays that were successful in his last two successful seasons.

Fleury did mention in an interview how Sam discussed with him certain plays he liked while he was in Minnesota...

If he has the kind of success I think we'll have, he'll start showing up on lists. He's just got that HC look and vibe. But I bet we keep him for two years minimum. He's been been smartly building up his resume over time. Ben Johnson did three years at OC before picking his job. In any event, it's my understanding that Macdonald wants to build an offensive system that survives coaches leaving. So in that sense, Fleury will add to what Kubiak started, and somebody will eventually inherit that.

I do think that Fleury looks far more like a HC than Kubiak did.

But yeah....I hope we at least keep him for another year.

I would hate having to go to different OC's every season.

IF Fleury's success leads to a consecutive Super Bowl visit & win, I have zero doubts that he will be sought after by another struggling team looking to upgrade.
Hopefully he will be picky about who is trying to woo him away from the Seahawks, and wanting to be a HC for a team on the precipice to be a challenger and NOT a team that has little to no chance of cooking & meshing with the upper echelon shouldn't be on the menu for his services.

I really liked what I heard from him today or yesterday when he said our current offense has not yet achieved the standard he insists on, and there are multiple stages they need to accomplish before they get there. So he is a man of vision. I think that is a top priority for being a top level coach.

I mean we don't want to wish bad things on Kubiak, but Kubiak imploding in Las Vegas would help retaining Fleury if he is good. Might be hesitant to hire another first year OC from Mike Macdonald.

I actually think the O is more Mike than Kubiak. After the Grubb debacle Mike took control and it was a Mandate on how he wants it run.

I just like the fact that they're not being complacent. Fleury has said that if they just stick with last year's stuff, it won't go well, so they're constantly evolving.

We have an embarassment of riches for Sam to throw to (Arroyo finally starting to put it together, thankfully), so I look forward to defenses trying to stop us.

I get a really good feeling when listening to Fleury. I love his Zen presence and you can tell when he talks his football IQ is through the roof. I think he's going to be a fantastic addition and I can't wait to see how the offense evolves under him.

As a side note, Fleury inherits a better starting point than his last two predecessors. The considerable conditioning problems that Ryan Grubb was faced with is no more. And, clean blocking improvements during the course of Kubiak's year had a huge impact.

It's a process. Looking forward to a further blossoming of the Seahawks offense in 2026.

That depends on who is following the process and who isn't. And to what scope and detail. Following the day to day process provides the tells.
