The primary emotion my Seahawks Fandom for the past 5+ years has been frustration. Move after move that was prima facie a bad decision that evolved into horrible results. The obvious regression of the culture that showed the limitations of PC's approach when he doesn't have strong players to take charge in a locker-room-only accountability system.
Too many other things to go into here, but frustration at so many things the led to the Seahawks playing ugly football more often than not when I just want to see a team playing good football. Instead, we got a bunch of players playing ugly football. There was competition, but never hope of contending.
NOW, my primary emotion is enthusiasm. I've always loved team building and management. It's going to be exciting to watch what players and coaches JS brings in to build his team. It will be interesting to see his roster/cap strategy. Watching an entirely new system struggle to rise or fall will be engaging. Instead of knowing what's coming as the season progresses, the pure entertainment value of the unexpected will make this team highly watchable again.
And last but not least, I finally have Hope. The odds are against us. Most new HC hires don't work out. Odds say whoever we hire will be gone in 3-4 years and we'll have to try again. The Seahawks may really suck bad for a while. That's OK with me. Being competitive is OK. Thanks, PC! But mediocrity becomes dull and boring. I WANT THE SEAHAWKS TO BE A CONTENDER! At last, there's hope that it will happen.
I'm All In on the upcoming enthusiasm and entertainment value that has been missing for so long.
