So, I've been driving the Mrs around all day, doing some after Christmas bargain hunting. I get home, turn on the TV and NFL Network "All Access" is on. Streaming across the bottom part of the screen is their "Start 'Em/Sit 'Em" schtick for fantasy. Guess who is a "Sit 'Em"?

How is that not sound advice from a fantasy perspective? Pete already said they are going to lean on Homer.

Beastmode is amazing, but from a fantasy football perspective it would be a huge gamble and extremely risky to start him.

Starting Homer is the wise decision. He knows the team, the plays, and this years offense. We have seen what miscommunication can do. The odds of Beast Quake #3 happening are incredibly slim.

You sit him from a fantasy perspective because it is highly unlikely he goes off statistically.

Remember 12s, this is not a STATS move, it is an EMOTIONAL/INSPIRATIONAL move that may never equate to anything in fantasy land, but could have very, very real consequences in the final outcome.

As much as I love the Seahawks and Marshawn, come on people, lay off the kool aid. Do you really think he is going to rush for over 100 yards and have multiple TDS? It’s more likely he is going to open up play action and our receivers will have a big day. If Marshawn does have a big day, it’s just a bonus.

He is here to open up play action and short yardage. (Hopefully at the goal line).

I'm not quite sure what you're arguing here. That Marshawn should be a fantasy starter, or that you're being super nitpicky about them misspelling his name? If it's just the misspelling, big deal. It happens and it doesn't make anyone an idiot. If you're upset about their fantasy football advice, then I defer to everyone else who already posted in this thread saying he's unlikely to statistically go off.

I think he's trying to say that they misspelled his first name, "Marshon", in stead of Marshawn.
Oh and, as far as sitting him?, maybe until the Defense starts getting winded some, and then throw a "Fresh Lynch Of Bay Area" at them to deal with.

I would think that this game will be used as a practice game for ML, used lightly to get him back into playing shape. As much as we would all love to beat the 9er's, It's more important to get ready for the playoffs. Get him a few touches and see how it goes. If he shows rust, ease him in slowly. If by chance he is 2013 ML, take what you can get.
I would love to see everyone step up and play over their heads and put a whipping on SF, but with all of the starters injured, and ML still a question mark, the odds are against it happening. I'll take another 3 point win.

The NFL Network spelling his name wrong showed an appalling lack of attention to detail, but paying attention to anything fantasy-football related is just plain dumb.

Saw you put his name in quotes. You indicated that the NFL Network was sloppy. Definitely unprofessional.

This brings up another point. This is a football forum....not a grammar/spelling class. There are typos, autocorrect, cut and paste, etc.

Unless you're very, very slow, you know damn well Marshon Lynch, Marshown Lynch, Mourshawne Lynch, Marshown Linch, Marshawn Lynnch, Mashawn, Marshawn Linch, Marshaw Lynnch, Beestmode, Beatmode, Beastmowed, Beetsmode, Bestmowed..(ok, wait...we're pushing it)...these are all Mr. Skittles himself in an online, Seahawk, NFL football...............forum.

Sheesh!

Cause Marshawn's a Seahawk, and we must be outraged at any and all criticism or negative comments towards all things Seahawk. It's in our forum bylaws.

Do NOT take Marshawn for your fantasy team. I hope they roll out their regular offense, with Homer/Lynch in the Carson/Penny roles, and screw Brown being out. Even if it takes a while to soften up the defense, it still opens up the passing game and Wilson runs. By the fourth quarter it should be able to grind out extended scoring drives.

GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
