I thought the penalty on JSN was weak

That right there royally loused up the game in ways I found unpalatable -- especially when it led to an actual tie with minimal time remaining. Glad Hawks were able to overcome the zebras in the end.

What's frustrating is you can have a hidden ref in a booth watching on camera who can call down to pick it up and none of us would know any better. That was a terrible call that almost cost them the game.

So I went basically frame by frame and I'm even more convinced

Terry the TV Ref: "Yeah it looks like he reaches around and pulls him on top of him, good call for holding."

#1 Charbonnet is just now making his cut to the right while JSN is trying to block away from the straight ahead run, #16 is pushing in to JSN with his right shoulder.

JSN 1

#2 JSN's helmet is snapping back as the should hits him in the chin, JSN still pushing away, his right hand inside of DBs left armpit.

JSN 2

#3 JSN's head snapping back even more, momentum from Cardinals player. JSN's hand appears to be down and inside.

JSN 3

#4 JSN still pushing with right arm forcing DB back

JSN 4

#5 Both players are going to the ground here, JSN's head turned to the left, and his arm is under the elbow of the DB. From this picture I can't see how JSN could "pull" him down.
Granted, this is stop motion, but these referees have been doing this for a long time, and they know how body mechanics work. They never saw a grab. But Terry after replay says "Yeah it looks like he reaches around and pulls him on top of him, good call for holding."
I never saw a "reach around."

The actual penalty happened after the last frame you posted. Technically is was legit. But in context of timing it was of no consequence as 1) Charbs was in open field and stepping into the end zone and 2) there was no potential injury contact involved.
To me it was like a mailman delivering mail, then fining the recipient for an expired stamp.

Yeah the foul occurred after the photos you showed.

I think maybe THIS is what they were talking about.

JSN'S right arm LOOKED like it was wrapped around the guy's left arm as he was falling down.

It looks like that in a still shot because the defender moved his arm around JSN's which was in the same spot the whole time.

It looks like it doesn't matter what we think either way.

The Refs suck ass.

i don't think it was a foul but I can see in realtime how it looked like a hold.
