I think it’s crazy people are shocked we lost to the Niners and the Lions and saying we got what we asked for when they were the two best teams in the NFC last year and Detroit just crushed Dallas today. Is the argument we win those with Pete and his 30th ranked defense last year? The Giants game is disappointing for sure.

The more I think about it the crazier it is that a couple of posters come out of the woodworks to dunk on the Seahawks after that.

I fully support our new coach and don't think he was a bad hire or there's anyone who can tell how he will do this early. I'm not one of the people already saying fire MM. But this does make me miss Pete. He was the greatest coach in the history of this franchise and like him or not he was an infectious personality. I miss the guy and I miss seeing him Chomp gum on the sidelines.

One thing you can always say about his teams is that they always fought hard
Wrong....Holmgren was the best coach. Give him that 2012-2020 D and we win 2 SB's

Pete lived off that SB win for far too long. Changes should have been made way sooner. Doesn't change the fact he was our most successful HC during a sustained period of success.

But no...it was time.

Eh, another parallel here in that we have posters who literally quit posting for months at a time only to reemerge when Geno has a bad game. I'm not really sure I see anyone randomly re-appearing on the "Pete loyalist" roster though

I just had a long debate with exactly that. Go back and look. Most of the Geno “haters” seem to be regulars but I believe you I’m sure there are some and I’m just not noticing them. I tend to ignore the extremes on this debate and only noticed the one dude because of reasons I don’t want to discuss here.

I don't think we know the truth about WHY Pete got fired.
What we know: After the season, Pete "competed" for his job. He gave Jody the post-season after-action report, with a detailed plan on how to fix the things that need fixing.

What I think: Post-season after-action reports happen every year. Pete's plans for fixing things in previous years were just as detailed and just as enthusiastically presented. I think Jody just got to the point where "I've heard this before and I know how this story ends" and decided to make the change.

Who doesn't miss Pete? I also miss Marshawn, Michael Bennett and most of all, Luke Willson. I also miss Jon Ryan even though Michael Dickson is the better punter.

And sometimes, I miss my old girlfriend, even though I've been married a long time . . .

Pete's teams always fought hard? Not really. Remember just last year when guys were simply not even trying to make tackles?

I said the samething. KJ said the samething, but some people can't accept that. Instead all you get is that they won 3 of their last 4 so they had to be trying as hard as they could. I gave up, but it needs to be said who they beat. An Eagles team that the wheels fell off of and lost a million games in a row, a horrid Titans team, lost to the Steelers with their 3rd string QB and two running backs that almost both ran for 100 yards when needing to win for any hopes of the playoffs, and then barely beat a terrible Cardinal team that had checked out moons ago.

Sorry, but last years team was going through the motions. Nothing more.
