At this point, I miss Jim Mora.
I see it a lot in the gameday forum. When we're struggling with something, there are posters tripping over themselves to make some quip about how it feels like Pete is still coaching.I said it appears people feel that way to me. I never said anyone explicitly stated it.
Look at how Pete is talked about by many around here. There is a lot of disrespect and disdain. Are you guys seriously trying to say you don't, or haven't seen it?
I can see where you're coming from . I have personally taken part in slamming him at times, but Ive also acknowledged the serious & glorious impact he had on this franchise . It was a wonderful time to be a 12.I said it appears people feel that way to me. I never said anyone explicitly stated it.

Mirrors my thoughts on all of it to a teeI can see where you're coming from . I have personally taken part in slamming him at times, but Ive also acknowledged the serious & glorious impact he had on this franchise . It was a wonderful time to be a 12.
It really was .
Where the grumbling, then outright disdain came from was the string of seasons where Seattle was very average to slightly above average with no realistic chance of going deep in January, let alone another SB.
It didn't appear that it was going to change and that's why Seattle has a new coach.
I'm support MM fully with the realization it might be a couple of seasons before they become a formidable opponent for anyone .
What?in my opinion, Pete earned another year. Back to back winning seasons when you are overhauling the roster is so hard to do.
I will give a couple years before I make harsh radical evaluations on McDonald.
Dear Gawd…I fully support our new coach and don't think he was a bad hire or there's anyone who can tell how he will do this early. I'm not one of the people already saying fire MM. But this does make me miss Pete. He was the greatest coach in the history of this franchise and like him or not he was an infectious personality. I miss the guy and I miss seeing him Chomp gum on the sidelines.
One thing you can always say about his teams is that they always fought hard
Seahawk fans have zero tolerance for losing. Pete spoiled millions of people with winning. He just isn't perfect and because of that almost everybody on this board threw him in the trash... ok... if your going to throw him in the trash I wish people would just admit that's what happened and stop trying to suger coat it...just sayin... call it what it is and stand by what the perception was.. people hated on Pete bad...who thinks he was horrible? Most people say he’s an all time great and the product just got stale towards the end. Are there people on here saying he was horrible?
He is playing coy.I said it appears people feel that way to me. I never said anyone explicitly stated it.

Who’s he?He is playing coy.
Who’s he?
Of course some fans are going to hate Pete, they’re also going to hate Russ, Macdonald, John, the stadium etc it’s what fans do.
Saying anyone who was ready for a change is “throwing him in the trash” is just as goofy though.
Most people on here are reasonable. I’ll say it again for the 100th time. They were/are huge fans of Pete and what he accomplished but after multiple years of stagnant non improvement, hiring his buddies for DC which lead to 28-30th ranked defense 3 years in a row for a defensive guru and people wondered if it was time for a guy entering his mid 70’s. That’s not an unreasonable take even if you disagree. It’s also reasonable if you thought Pete deserved more time even if I disagreed. Whit with this us vs them BS. It’s ridiculous.
He does as I already said. I still think most posters are fairly reasonable but it seems amplified because of a vocal minority. I get irritated by the amount of Russ hate or saying he sucked but in reality it’s a very small vocal minority who I’m hearing. It’s ok to not like Russ or Pete imo.You know what seems pretty goofy to me? Trying to downplay the amount of Pete hate that's been going on around here for years and that's still prevalent on this board even though he's gone. Pete gets absolutely slammed here all the time. What is even the point of trying to deny it?
Look, I'm not saying people can't say what they want or feel what they want about Pete. By all means, let the hate flow through you and take every possible opportunity to slam the guy. But why try to pretend like it's not going on and hasn't been going on for years? It's just weird, man.

Teams that "give up" don't go 3-1 over the last four games of the season to get firmly back into the playoff hunt. And all three of those wins featured a late fourth-quarter comeback, including one with our backup QB. The run defense was embarrassing in the loss, but even that was a one-score game against a well-coached team that made to the postseason.Last season they gave up

Last season was far from perfect and Pete is far from blameless from the difficulties, but saying the team "gave up" is patently untrue.
I understand your sentiment. However id like to say that this team fell to its current state over the course of a handful of seasons and it won't be fixed correctly in a week. Someone said (ostatehawk) over the course of this season we'll see some good football and some pretty bad football. This makes sense to me.Honestly I miss the first 5 years with Pete. Don't miss the last years at all.
When I'm putting the Enemy posts together, I do watch snippets of the last pressers - and honestly Pete just looks like he lost it in the last couple years.
But, he brought us our only owl. So, yea. That's a thing. And it's worth respect.
I don't miss him, it was time. Heck it was time a few years ago. But that's a completely separate issue than what's going on with the existing coaching staff. When I hear "That's on me.", "We're gonna fix that" - well, I kinda expect it to get fixed.
I fast forwarded through last night's game 'cause I didn't want 3 hours of heart attacks - and because I detest prime time games for several reasons. One of my friends who suffered the whole game said: "Seems like the hole ******* team is on Gravol or something."
But, another poster has mentioned, and I think there's some truth to it: Not sure if MM has the locker room. Something changed, and the wheels fell off during/after Detroit it seems. Grubb 'forgetting' to call run plays - and a bunch of other snippets that don't really add up. You don't forget to call 1/2 your game.
Miss old Pete and wish the MM era was going MUCH better than it is. That's how I feel about it. The new guard has been talking about correcting it for a couple weeks - and last night was the result. Record matters.
Never want/wanted either regime to fail. The hole we're digging ourselves this season sucks ass.
If you move the goalposts any further, Blair Walsh is going to end up making a kick by accident. The defense was going through the motions a lot last year. Woolen just standing around, others not gang tackling, etc,,,. Looked to me like a bunch of the players were just defeated. I didn't see the effort that you apparently did.
