It was a crown of the helmet hit to a player who could/should have been considered a defensless player. I'm not going to say it was dirty. These plays happen. Some get flagged and some don't. Moving on.

I don't have a copy of the game. From what I saw in real time the defender lowered his head and hit Stafford in the chest. It wasn't a 'late' hit but it was after the ball was gone. Here is the rule:

(2) lowering the head and making forcible contact with any part of the helmet against any part of the passer’s body. This rule does not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or the helmet in the course of a conventional tackle on a passer.

I'm sure there will be a clip on YouTube or the official highlights in a few hours. If it wasn't a hit with the helmet then my apologies.

I just didn’t see “leading with the helmet”.
