As great as the team has played for most of this year, and as much as I want to get really excited, that will not happen until this team beats the Rams. In my opinion, Sean McVey is hands-down the best coach in the NFL and it’s not even close. What he has done year after year with a few strong players, but most of the rest of the team being average is pretty remarkable. He has overwhelmingly outcoached Seattle since he’s been the Rams coach and hope that this is finally the end to his reign.

OK, let me have it!

It's not as if this team will never lose a game again. Rams are the best candidate to make it happen and a good test of our playoff viability.

Hopefully we'll be healthy by that time. Kupp and IV would love a revenge game.

I've had the Rams games circled for years now. But the thing is by restricting yourself to celebrating only if we beat the rams could cost you some great celebratory moments after victories against other opponents. If that's all that is in our cards you wouldn't want to miss out on the best times of the year for the team I have long said will win the SB in 2026. What we're doing this year is coming as somewhat of a surprise. But only somewhat.

Time is flying. Mid-season already. One injury could derail a basically bitchin season. I must have watched the replay 8 times. Our pass game rocks. Team that comes out of the NFC West? Superb owl

lol. Seriously though, it's 1 game. Division winners are rarely 6-0 in their divisional games.

This is a screenshot from ESPN earlier this week....note the crawl.....we aren't even in serious contention for the NFC, per their anal-ytics. The Disrespect Knows No Bounds.

The clause in the subject "...until we beat the Rams" is itself decidedly optimistic, so I'm afraid the OP has already failed to refrain. (I know what you meant -- just playing.)

While we can all concur there are no guarantees Seahawks will win the NFC, it is a pretty stupid oversight on ESPN's part to exclude them from that group of teams having a reasonable chance.

Everyone can do their own thing but if you limit experiencing joy and excitement following the Seahawks to only if they beat the Rams you sure are limiting the fun you can have.
For me I don't have to have the Seahawks win the super bowl to enjoy a win or think the team is good. Lots of good teams don't win the whole thing.
I'm glad this team is competitive every year and because of this it's at least possible to win the whole thing.

I enjoy the week to week process. Team health and game plans are dynamic. Changing every week. I'm indifferent to mandates and outcomes. The joy and optimism of weekly challenges are to be treasured.

Looking forward to the Arizona game. They are a different and evolving team. They now have evolve to a more legit 11 man pass protection emphasis among other changes. Very optimistic that the Seahawks defense can handle that change.

The season is an evolving series of match ups.

Looking forward this Sunday's test.

Maybe folks have taken the Rams statement out of context.

We look like the better team. We can and should beat them.

MM is not PC. I don’t think McVay is going to ‘have his number’ like he did with PC. I also think our coach is on his way to being one of the best to ever do it.

The Rams are not only my least favorite division rival but, the team I dislike most in the entire NFL.

But….oh yes, there’s a but…they’re ‘standing in our way’. I give respect where it’s due.

This is an AI answer…I don’t have time atm to validate but:

Sean McVay's Rams have a record of 10-5 against the Seahawks.

So, yes….the post referring to the Rams being the team we need to get past is legit.

I thought they were 9-5 vs us under McVay..whatever the case, they’ve had the upper hand.

Honestly, we have seen years of PC getting out coached and our team out played. Its easy to not be optimistic, however I believe in what has been built here.
Our dvo stats are fantastic on both sides of the ball.
We are a crazy good team and have not even reached our potential.
We are one of the youngest teams per play snap count, and the rams and Ninies are one of the oldest. We are up and coming, and I believe this year we catch and pass them.
The rams are a great team, but we got them this year.

Yep. I expect a split with Santa Clara and the Bearded Clams.
Optimism is justified. However, the Seahawks are 0-1 with 3 games to play. The projection is the Seahawks will be underdogs in all 3 of those remaining games. Sure, you could win 2, or all 3 of those games. Non-Seahawks fans' expectations are that you won't win 2+ games.

I’m not so sure the Seahawks are on the dogs at home against the Rams late in the year.
