Two more......TEN POINTS
D was banged up bad that game. Sherman basically had one arm. I think they killed themselves in the GB game to keep it close. Losing Avril and Thurmond was a big loss and I think Pete healthy scratched a better option than tharold simon..forget who...not to mention they let dumbass edelman play with a concussion without even an evaluation.

I don't care to talk about SB losses much, but the NE loss is simple to explain.200
This is why executing early is key. Don't let, fate, the other team, or refs have any say. Hard for lady luck or bad kharma to burn you, opponents to make a last minute field goal, or the refs to game the system if it's too far out of reach to begin with.

I never liked that PC would stop putting points on the board in blowouts. I'm dropping a hundo all day if the opponents can't stop it. Go feel bad in your loser locker room [lol].

*unless it's school sports, but maybe if you're the SC/LA equivilant at that level, ha.

Hate blaming injuries but no doubt in my mind if Lane and Avril don't get hurt the Hawks win. Not to mention Kam, Earl and Sherm all plying hurt too. It doesn't even come down to that last play. Or if Kearse hangs onto a long 3rd down throw from Russ with the score 24-14.

Avril going out was similar to Clemons going out I think against the Falcons 2 years prior. That loss of QB pressure makes a huge difference.

And yes, for every miracle catch Kearse has made, there are like 4 other catches he dropped/missed prior to that...that 3rd down you mentioned was a HUGE one. Going up at least 27-14 and burning at least another 2 minutes off the clock is a dramatically different game.

Team loss. SEVERAL factors. Not one play.

This is also true. As much as everyone loves to point at the playcall in the end. The Hawks had a 10 point lead. If the LOB defense is supposed to be one of the greatest defenses in the history of the NFL...that lead should never have been lost outside of turnovers on offense or special teams...but no Brady came back against the LOB. A big statement for me was when Kam hit Edelman and Edelman held onto the ball for a first down. It means the LOB no longer was imposing it's will that game.

For as much as we blame the playcall, Respect to the NE Offense that showed up when it mattered and equal blame to the Seahawks defense for not putting a lid on it.

It's a great moment in team history. I still enjoy watching Ryan's TD pass, the last 2 minutes of the game and the OT TD. But it's hard to celebrate it without that part of my brain that remembers what happened 2 weeks later. Had the Hawks won that 2nd one, the Kearse TD might be right up there with "The Tip"
Or his catch in the SB to get the first down. If they won that SB the team wouldn’t have fell apart and maybe won another one or two. They would be up there with the greatest teams in nfl history.
