Last game I attended! Special day but the memory that occurred 2 weeks later is more memorable for the wrong reason...

It's a great moment in team history. I still enjoy watching Ryan's TD pass, the last 2 minutes of the game and the OT TD. But it's hard to celebrate it without that part of my brain that remembers what happened 2 weeks later. Had the Hawks won that 2nd one, the Kearse TD might be right up there with "The Tip"

But instead the Kearse catch is barely remembered...Wilson to Butler is remembered though...ranked the number 1 play in super bowl history!

As for a personal memory, this was a game I did not see live. I was visiting relatives in India at the time. Couldn't figure out streaming or else i would have done it at 2 am or whatever. Woke up middle of the night and found out we were down 16-0 and Russ had thrown 3 picks. Told myself not to ruin my last days with my aunts and uncles by being sulky figuring they were done. When I woke up in the morning, my phone had blown up with friends texting me how it ended.

Sadly the way that season ended, any magic up to that point was completely destroyed and no longer worth remembering because it all lead up to that final play. Exactly as you stated, come back win over Packers after 4 turnovers, Kearse Catch, The Beast Run...a lot of epic things, but once it ended with Wilson to Butler...that's all that matters.

If I have 5 winning hands at blackjack that consisted of epic splits and doubles...only to bet it all on the 6th hand and I hit on a 16 to bust to a dealer showing 7. Yeah..I'm never going to happily remember the 1-5th hands played...only that dumbass time I bet it all on the 6th hand, played what the book said I should have done instead of with my gut and lost it all.

Maybe the defense shouldn't have given up a 10-point lead in the 4th quarter. Maybe they should have played add on when they had a chance.

The entirety of the ending, was on Pete Carroll. He mismanaged the clock, played around with making sure there was no time left for Brady to score after the Hawks scored. BIG MISTAKE, he caused the team to be jittery, instead of cocksure, and relaxed. PC wound the team tight, because he ALWAYS played fast and loose with time.

What he should have told his players is, we have this. I don't care how much time is left on the clock "WITH THIS DEFENSE NO ONE IS GOING TO SCORE AFTER WE DO".

Instead, since I wasn't in the huddle, PC was fussing over the little things, instead of telling Russ to just play the game, and his OC how he wants it done, just sit back and call the game in a manner of it being the first game of the season. RELAX BOYS, WE GOT THIS... PC, HE IS THE ONE THAT STOLE THE SB from us fans.

The ending was rushed, and frantic. WE HAD THIS. The team fell apart when you have Lynch laughing in the face of the coach, great comraderie here. Richard Sherman and Lynch took the team for a drive, that wonderful new, fully loaded Mazeratti, and trashed it after that game. Instead of using the disappointment to build unity, they tore it down.

That was the day I decided that I was more invested in the Seahawks, than they were invested in the team. I didn't say it out loud, but it was internal.

.... EFF THEM. It was the equivalent of selling Bitcoin because it hit $10 a coin. It didn't happen on that play, but when the words started coming out of what was happening behind the scenes. It was like an air mattress with a hole.

Two of the very best players on the team, really cared more about that big ME, instead of team.

Pete was one of the worst time management coaches we've ever seen. It was just plain maddening.
My late father said: Pete never met a timeout he didn't like.

Yep, the priority was to not score so fast. Kind of like the Atlanta game a fe years earlier. And that priority was met. The real bummer was not stuffing Brady on the ensuing sneak for a safety.

Hate blaming injuries but no doubt in my mind if Lane and Avril don't get hurt the Hawks win. Not to mention Kam, Earl and Sherm all plying hurt too. It doesn't even come down to that last play. Or if Kearse hangs onto a long 3rd down throw from Russ with the score 24-14.
