Works the other way too. Players fall all the time. Aaron Rodgers comes to mind off the top of my head.

Lamar Jackson 2018 Rd1 32 overall

Jalen Hurts 2020 Rd2 53 overall

Brock Purdy 2022 Rd7 #262

Russell Wilson 2012 Rd3 #75

Just to list a few.

Yeah, Anthony Richardson is another one whose value suddenly skyrocketed. I just hope the Colts didn't ruin that kid.
They didn't as Richardson believes the NFL is "Easy" yet only has played just under
half of his NFL games.
His stats are not showing that it's easy for him at all and availability is important for
a QB which hasn't been a trait he's shown since before high school.
In my opinion he is a project that was way over drafted and the only fault of the Colts
was in picking him so high.

Those guys pretty much all went where they were expected to, except for Russ, who many thought would be there for us in the fifth round.

They didn't fall, they were undervalued.

dot com has been pretty quiet for a spell now but is posting a series of mock picks. Here is one that backs my view...
Josh Liskiewitz, PFF
Pick: Jaxson Dart, QB, Mississippi
"This would be an ideal landing spot for Jaxson Dart, as he wouldn't be rushed into action with Geno Smith still the starter for 2025. Dart excelled on intermediate throws (10-19 yards downfield), earning the nation's highest passing grade (94.2) and the second-best NFL passer rating (133.8) in 2024. His ability to attack the middle of the field would make him a strong long-term option for this offense."

Agreed. From what I remember hurts also went ahead of where he was projected but I may be wrong. Not one of them “fell” though

OK gotcha. Like AR sitting in the green room or rumors of drug use causing Dan Marino to fall to the Dolphins at 27.
Or... Travis Hunter falling to the Seahawks at #18...?

If Dart was around in the 2nd rd. I'd consider it.

Frankly I'm much more interested in either of the two Qbs from the National Championship (Howard and Leonard.) Both have raw ability that could be developed and could be had later in the draft.

To me it's time to get younger at QB and take a couple of shots to find the guy. Continuing with Geno cap straps the team and sentences the team to continuing mediocrity. He's not worth paying for another season or two and his cliff is impending.

Rourke and McCord are also somewhat interesting as developmental prospects.

Put Tyler Shough at the top of the last after the combine his value will go up. My prediction is Sanders will fall and and Dart and/or Shough will get drafted before him

IMO the mock drafter have artificially elevated Sanders and once the NFL teams get involved changes will happen

Only thing I don’t like about Shough is his age. Good talent, most ready for 2025 but he will be 26 before the season starts.

I would expect at least 10 good years out of Shough, better to have a shorter amount of seasons with good-excellent play vs longer of less quality. This was a similar thought process when the Patriots drafted Gronkowski he had a back surgery the Patriots doctors told Belichick wouldn’t play more than 5 seasons but he thought 5 seasons of excellent play was better than 10 of average play

Teams are caring less about the age thing the Falcons drafted Penix who was 24
Wrong, he was 23 when he was drafted. He didn't turn 24 until May 8th last year, which was after he was drafted.
Yet again, someone making Penix sound like old man river. Has a year under his belt in the NFL and doesn't turn 25 until May 8th.
So odd that people have always made him sound like he's in his 30s

I'm coming around on Ewers. He has always been a top talent just played through injuries last year. Best part is, he's 21. Even if he takes 3 years to develop, he's still only 24 at that point. Plus, JS has name dropped him a lot unprompted for 2 years now.

There seem to be more mid-level quarterbacks with potential in this draft than in recent years. This has got to be the year John drafts a QB.
