Dude was a monster on defense last night, he isn't exactly a starter either, I'm surprised he played so well.

Hats off to you sir.

Yeah, dude was BALLIN' last night. Hate to say it, cuz Fat Kobe is dope, but I think Malcolm is probably a better option at the Will... He's so fricken fast!

I had to look it up because I forgot, but homie ran a 4.44 40! That's sick for a LB! That's like Earl Thomas fast! Gotta get that guy on the field more...

Malcom(Steve's younger bro) was off the hook last night. We didn't even miss Wags with KJ at MIKE and Smith at Will. Irvin looked great against the run too. Was he playing SAM?

I kinda still wish we had Allen Bradford, but you can see why our staff likes flexible players. Bobby Wagner (almost NFC Defensive Rookie of the year) goes down, so you slide KJ over and stick other people in those spots. It's awesome. Totally able to maximize potential and the roster numbers.

Malcolm Smith is a hybrid back that knows Carroll's system thru and thru. His quickness and change of direction approaches that of a DB. He creates problems for opponents. If they can keep him fresh and active, he could give them a big matchup edge in sudden death playoffs.

I thought of him as a backup LBer, that can't stick out there and look a bit above average and gives you some speed in special teams but last night I saw a difference maker on the line of scrimmage and in coverage in addition to those other things. I think could be in trouble if the NFL was still a beef/running ground and pound league with heavy linemen, but he is clearly a great counter to speedy outlet RB's and fast TE when he is on his game.

Its not the size of the dog in the fight .... but the ..... size of the fight in the dog.

I thought Strong Safety Kam Chancellor displayed the proper attitude early on with his physical pancake block on Arizona Cardinal offensive lineman Eric Winston. Pure inspiration ...... I'd love to see him take over the Will spot permanently, but lately I haven't been able to trust PC with identifying the best players and rewarding them with a starting job.
