Didn't see this posted anywhere. Move if needed.

Pretty cool that he still considers Seattle his home.

Some good quotes too:

“I think this is an exciting time to be a Seahawks fan,” Holmgren said. “I think this team is poised and primed to do some really great things. They’re a young, exciting team that plays hard and plays fast; they’re very physical and have a great running game.”

“As much as it bugs me, I think fans like seeing the flash, the chippiness, and being in somebody’s face,” he said. “I just worry so much about penalties from all the talking and dead-ball things. I fear that will come back and bite you. But I’m sure I’ll worry about penalties on my death bed.”

I'm guessing he's raising the flag for the home opener.

That'd be great. Now that Ruskell and Mora are gone and we've totally recovered from his last couple years, it's time he gets some love.

I've been listening to Holmy since he first joined Mitch in the Morning. He's great radio. I personally like his stories more than his X's and O's talk.

Very interesting when he said JS called Mike into his office to give him advice on cut-down day.

How cool would it be if JS/PC hired Holmgren to be an Offensive Specialist Consultant: West Coast Offensive Coordinator?

Holmgren might have had a finesse offense with a smash-mouth LT-LG combo but it was such a ridiculously great, Short to Intermediate Offense, when it was at its best over the years. Wilson and Co could definitely use the insight.

Nah I'm glad he's back talking about the hawks, but it's probably better he's not directly involved. It's Pete's show now and their styles are completely different.

No to Holmgren in the front office. We've moved on. Yes to Holmgren on the radio. I enjoyed listening to him yesterday.

Mike's advice: "Keep every veteran you can. Those young guys can't possibly contribute as much as a veteran."

As "fun" as that would be for the sentimental old fool in me to have Holmgren back in the mix, I think it would be totally counter productive. I think the OC we have and the system we have right now is perfectly suited for the team we have right now. Adding Holmy would be a latteral move at best. Not just latteral, but an akward drunken side step that may very well result in falling down the stairs.

BEST case scenario is that he stays out of the way and does nothing. WORST case scenario is he gets into pissing matches with everyone and de-rails what we've already got going on. So if the BEST case scenario is that he keeps his mouth shut and stays out of the way, then why not just keep him at home.

No, i think he's found a perfect spot to stay involved with football and the Hawks without stressing himself or anyone else out. Nice little retirement gig for him...

Im actually HELL NO, and No on both. Personally the future is much more bright than the past ever was. At the end of the Carroll era Holmgren with be considered "just a guy", a distant memory.

Love him on the radio, will listen to him as often as I can. It is interesting to hear him contrast the style of play that PC requires in relation to Holmgren’s finesse style.

I'll never, ever see Holmie as "just a guy" after all he did for our city and this franchise. I'll forever be grateful to him and root for him wherever he is (unless a team he's coaching is playing against us of course).

It'd be cool for him to work for us in some capacity (not as GM or Head Coach...wouldn't trade JS&PC away for all the tea in China!), but I realize that's not being realistic....that just wouldn't work out. Having him back in town is actually working out a lot better than I would have thought. Not nearly as awkward as I would've imagined. Just thinking from my own perspective, it would be tough to talk up the new regime as much as he has, without it seeming like I'm putting myself down (by default!). Of course he's always been a model of class when the subject comes to rivals or others in general (Hairball should take lessons).

It's also cool as hell that he really does see Seattle as home (at least one of his homes), so him saying that prior to his departure was real, rather than just what you say to be nice to the fan base. I'm also greatly looking forward to his on-air analysis. The man knows his football.
