I think I'm supposed to use those lame terms but I'm not. It's freaking baseball. Mariners are so cringe sometimes. Anyways. Brant Brown has been relieved of his duties. I thought it was a good hire honestly he's had success in the past but wow it needed to be done they have to switch something up.

Doubt this will fix a whole lot, how many times have we fired and hired hitting coaches? I have no issue with the move, but I'm not going to expect a whole lot else. We need better hitters, that's the best way to turn this around.

I want to see Harry Ford called up soon.

It ultimately boils down to Servais. This team will remain mediocre with him in charge

Well that's a relief. Was afraid they'd put the blame on the Mariner Moose, but looks like he can breath easier now.

It’s baseball. There is already a ton of thinking in this complex game. Now you want to make a major change to hitting and force guys to change their approach. Not likely to happen in a half a season, and especially with vets on a contender.

Phillies fired their head coach mid season 2 years ago and made a world series run. Voght leaves the M's and goes to Cleveland and they have the best record in the AL. Bochey wins a title with Texas in his first year, etc. I agree with this particular roster not much will likely change but something needed to be done. It's the worst offense in franchise history.

It's a results-oriented business. The hitting was terrible. Of course the batting ccoach has to go. At the very least.

It was the right decision. There has to be accountability. At the very least, you hope that it will shake things up.

I have a pretty wild idea. How about, oh I don't know, getting some better players? Look at the talent level of the better teams in the league and compare that to the talent level of the Mariners lineup. The disparity is so massive it's laughable. If everyone in the Mariners lineup was hitting as well as could reasonably be expected, based on talent level, this offense is mediocre at best.

They need to get better players, but they won't, and they never do because shedding player salary is a higher priority than putting together the best team reasonably possible.

"Offensive Coordinater"

I Read these articles in the newspaper today.

Fluffy flowery terms, pseudo-sophisticated.

We talkin' football?

"M's are in first place."

*double face palm*

Yeah, I got confused when I heard the term used in the announcement.

This was the “offensive coordinator”. A new “type” of voice in the dugout. Epic failure.

The big question is the Mariners batting order capable of playin better and just having a down year or what they are doing is who they are

I have thought J Rod needs help in the lineup from somebody who strikes fear in the opponent. Pete Alonso comes to mind who currently is on a 1 yr $20 million contract and will be a free agent after this season. The Mets offered him a 7 yr $158 million contract last off season that was turned down. I am pretty sure it would take at least $25 million per season to entice him to leave NY The Mets have the highest team payroll @ $307 million the average is $118 million

IMO a player who hits 40 HR/100 rbi a season is worth $25 million

The SOs have gone down and players are starting to hit better since the firing.
Brown may have not been the problem but if guys won't listen to you what good
are you?
You have to find ways to get the attention of hitters right?

Maybe there was a bit of "over coaching" going on. Get guys too much in their head. Just let them play ball.

Two games is kind of a small sample, especially against bottom dwellers like the Angles, but maybe it's the start of a trend.

Brown was the sacrificial lamb, had to blame someone. I guess it’s not the players fault 😬

I’m tired of hearing this year after year.. why do we constantly see players come to Seattle and have their worst years/their process look like shit? Coincidence? When it’s a couple players sure, blame the players for bad process. When it’s trend year after year.. there’s a systemic problem

Seems like this Mariners team only needs to score 3 runs to win a majority of its games.
