@hugecanoli and @Aircrew, not sure how I missed your posts from this past August but those are sweet!

@EllisD18 I didn't know about those types of places to look for game worn/used equipment. Love the SpeedFlex!

Still on the lookout for an authentic Axiom3D Seahawks helmet, current era or retro style. Would love both! Please let me know if you come across one.

"WARNING: Collectible helmets are for display only. They are not designed or intended for use as a protective helmet. Do not wear collectible helmets for protection."

A replica is a replica.

I’m fully aware of the labeling and associated warnings.

@$1500 however, I’d expect a full fledged official on field helmet that was labeled for public liability reasons.

You used to be able to pick up a “replica” pretty darn cheap.

game-used and team-issued. Primary (navy) helmet and Rivalry are axiom 3-d. The Retro one is just a regular axiom. A user in this thread sold me the team-issued Retro from 2025 season.

No insult was intended to anyone. I started writing the post before your post appeared. I tend to be slower and deliberate. I edited the post and took stuff out before I posted it. Thus the post certainly wasn't 'aimed' at you.

To me it doesn't matter how much a copy of the Mona Lisa costs. It's still just a copy. Ironically a fake Mona Lisa with blonde hair, big tits, and a nice smile is probably cheaper than a good copy of the Mona Lisa. Some people are happy with higher quality fakes, and that's fine. Other opinions are equally valid. My standards are lower and money is tighter.

Some more off-topic stuff was removed before posting.

Some clarification from AI...

The primary difference is that the Axiom3D is a premium tier of the standard Riddell Axiom that upgrades the interior padding with advanced 3D-printed lattice liner technology.

Liner Technology and Materials

Axiom:
Uses a standard multi-component interior pad configuration and smooth energy management panels visible through ventilation ports.

Axiom3D: Integrates 3D-printed open-cell lattice padding (powered by Carbon using EPU45 material) designed to fine-tune impact response and improve breathability.

That’s correct, you can see the 3D liner here.

Thing is, "real" helmets are individually fitted to the players, and to use one that isn't custom fitted could be somewhat dangerous.

I quoted you but by no means did I intend what I said to be or taken as “personal”.

My curiosity is pure, I have a legitimate on field helmet and a couple “replicas” that were gifted to me.

There is a huge difference in quality (very obvious).

My point/question was more about this particular helmet being “replica” quality similar to what I already have vs maybe a legitimate helmet that was labeled as replica to help eliminate liability.

I saw “display helmet” when I glanced at the description, if it’s there I didn’t notice “replica “

No big deal, was just hoping for a bit of clarification if anyone knew.

I’d consider paying that price for a legitimate helmet, probably not for something along the lines of the “replicas” I already have.

Obviously true.
Hence my speculation that it was a legitimate helmet labeled for public sale.

The one actual on field helmet I own is so small it won’t fit most adults, I’ve always speculated that the size is the reason I had access to it.
