Funny how turnovers are used here on a Seahawks site when two turnovers and a flea flicker were used to score 23 points on the Panthers without their starting DE's, while Cam had 4 80 yard TD drives (albeit without Wagner).

How many people watched the Panthers/Jaguars game this year in which Cam had less total yards and less first downs than Bortles and a season low 20 points? I did, in it's entirety, and Cam had a great football game and did what an MVP should do-overcoming a ridiculous offensive PI on Olsen that took points off the board, an injury to Kuechly, and, of course, a dropped Ginn TD, Cam played brilliant situational football, kept his D off the field, and converted numerous 3rd downs with his legs and rocket arm to literally wear down and sap any and all chance Jacksonville had-the key stat to winning THAT game was TOP, in which he had the ball nearly 10 more minutes than Jax, 8 on one backbreaking 4th quarter drive where they were more than content to settle for a FG which put the game out of reach. What "metric" is that? Yet I literally heard Skip Bayless this week rattling off the Jax game as a stinker Cam game-joke.

Why don't you run along and catch the next box car to nearest Panther forum, like a good little container cat? Isn't the hobo life getting boring? I'm sure they would appreciate the Cam slurpage much more than we do here.

Would be a pretty big time snuff if Cam didn't get the MVP.

No. No it would not be. If Cam wins it I imagine he will probably be the lowest ranked QB to ever win it. He's what, like 8 in QB rating?

I doubt there has ever been a QB ranked that low to win it.

Palmer should definitely be ahead of Cam. His numbers are great and he's coming back from another knee injury. I was much more impressed with how he played against the Hawks than Cam.

No one is saying Cam isn't playing very good football. He deserves to be in the conversation. I just think it's odd that ESPN has handed it to him when there are other candidates who are more deserving. The machine drives the narrative and that can be a good thing at times and a bad thing at times. Still lots of football left so we shall see.

Cam could lose the rest of the games and still win MVP. Much like Arians winning coach of the year last year. Palmer goes down and that team falls apart (another reason Palmer should be MVP) yet the narrative had already been written. Arians wins the award.

Eventhough Pete won what? 9 straight games to finish the year? and win the division.

Undefeated teams win awards.
Especially when they're about be one and done in the playoffs.........against the defending conference champs.

The Seattle Seahawks cant win awards if were going to all these Super Bowls.
Its way too far for media to travel and cover these guys.

You honestly think that the Panthers wouldn't be affected if Cam went down?

of course the would be affected. Would they fall apart like the House of Cards. No.

Derek Anderson was 2-0 last year in Cam's absence.

Hence, not only are Palmer's numbers way better, he is also more mVALUABLEp.

Did Tom Brady win MVP when they went 16-0?

I am pretty sure he did..but it had nothing to do with 16-0 . The dude had 50TD 8INT and almost 5000 yards

Drew Stanton won 5 games last season.

Anderson had the luxury of having Kelvin Benjamin and DeAngelo Williams on the roster last year. And his 2 wins were against the 2-14 Buccaneers.

Correction, nobody is outplaying Wilson now.

Up until four games ago Russell had 10 TD's and 7 interceptions, and this forum was full of Russell needs to step it up, earn his contract, break up with Ciara threads.

Cam and Russell's stats are very similar, but only one team is 13-0. So what do you mean by no one's outplaying Russell? The MVP is for the entire season, not just the last four games.

Heard this interesting stat. Don't recall where, I think it was one of John Clayton's segments on one of the 710 sports radio shows.

The record for most TDs with no interceptions in five straight games is currently 16 by Aaron Rodgers

Russell currently has 16 in four games.

That means Russell only need throw one touchdown and no INT to have the new record through five games.

Here's hoping for another epic game by our MVP QB to put him in the record books yet again.

4 teams in history have went undefeated.

That is way more impressive than any stat Russell Wilson will have this season. Cam Newton is the franchise QB and leader of that team and will win the MVP as a result.

If the roles were reversed, you guys would be spouting the exact same thing for the Seahawks QB.

I agree with this.

I think Russ would have to play like this through week 17 to be truly considered. He and the offense dug a pretty big hole in the first half of the season.

MVPs come from winning teams. This isn't news.

Compare Wilson's entire year with Cam's. Stat for stat. Even starting out with 10 TDs/7INTs, and counting all those "horrible" first half games, he's still better almost across the board.

Wilson's quarterback rating on the year is 110.0 compared to 96.9 for Cam--that's 13.2 points higher in Wilson's favor. Wilson's completion percentage on the year is 68.8; Cam's is 59.1, or nearly ten percent better accuracy. Wilson has more yards, a better TD:INT ratio, and more yards per pass.

These stats are for the entire season, not just the last four games.

Who has more rushing yards. More rushing TDs? More passing TDs? A better offensive team rank? A division title? conference top seed? better record?

I can cherry pick stats too.
