I am no cap expert but from what I have read we have quite a cap hole for 2025 and we can roll over cap space from this year into next year. Even before optional extentions

Even without extentions we will need to cut or restructure contracts to meet the 2025 cap.

Is there anyway the Seahawks can keep Tyler Lockett after this year with that contract?

The Seahawks have 6 players who have salaries and/or roster bonuses of $10M+ in 2025. Those 6 players are due just over $110M, all of which will count against the 2025 cap. The Seahawks can, and will, move a lot of that cap into later years - if the players stay. There aren't many longer term contracts or cap hits beyond 2025. There isn't any real pressure to move money back this year. It's just extra flexibility in case an opportunity pops up.

Could they be opening up space for next year though for extending someone like Cross if he keeps balling? Would cost major $$$$
I mean, yeah, but why do that in week 1 when you can do it toward the end of the season. This move sounds like they want something done before the trade deadline.
