seems like this would precipitate a significant move, no?
At least the possibility of making a push for someone.
Of course , this makes me wonder if Lucas's injury is more than anyone is letting on. Who knows how bad Fant is hurt ?

I'm actually hopeful for MM/JS to make the right decisions for the team. Forsythe playing significant time will bite them at some point. Not to pile on PC but I don't think he would've done anything like that. He would've said something lame about how Stone "is battling and the team is rallying"

"Next man up" doesn't really work if the next man up has proven they aren't very good.

This makes the most sense to me. Maybe they have somebody identified already...If so, they've kept it close to the vest so far.

JS knows he has weaknesses on the OL...better to be ready in case they find the guy they want.

On a side note. Your username. Is it in regard to Memphis Millie or Mr John Henry Bonham? Or maybe you're from New Orleans?

Just curious.

Maybe they know a suspension is coming and they're trying to save him some money. :cautious:
Interesting. I haven't considered this. Here are a couple of scenarios.

* DK is unhappy and they're arranging to be able to move him out

* DK is happy, Seattle is happy . They're going to re-x him

* Many think they're moving money to be in a position to sign an OL

* Or... DK is roided out of his mind and will be suspended soon. This might explain
his hyper aggressiveness

Now , this is for discussion only, I don't have a clue how the salary cap works .

I'm not very familiar with how the cap works either but I was curious if there is there any chance that freeing up the cap this year could be to help us next year by rolling it over.
I seem to recall the GM from the team in santa clara doing this.

Who would they extend? Dodson, Baker, and Williams are the only notable big-budget free agents next season. I can't imagine we'd extend them after one game, though. The other candidates would be Woolen, Lockett, and Geno.
I think the signing option is the more likely scenario. We need Oline help in a bad way.

Any player suspended loses a proportion of their salary but not their bonus. It makes sense for players to have low salaries and high bonuses. I'm not making any serious allegation against Metcalf and I have no inside knowledge, (but teams do). It's far more likely the team needs the cap space or wants the cap flexibility without fans demanding they spend the cap space. I'm merely posting something that fits that hasn't already been mentioned. I hope he plays all 17 regular season games.

I am sure that PC had absolutely nothing to do with talking Jason Peters out of retirement last season. Had to have been that awesome motivator of men JS. </sarcasm>

We'll definitely find out over the next couple of seasons.
JS is going to have to stand behind the team he assembles and live with his choices.
