Ian Rapoport on the radio either yesterday or Tuesday basically said that Seahawks don't have much of a shot at signing Allen because they wouldn't meet his demand. I think this is just him crossing his fingers and hoping something terrible goes wrong in the negotiation and he doesn't end up in Seattle.

Rapoport is just trying to be somewhat credible, unlike other reporters. Until he signs, he isn't "signed."

But like I said, Allen wouldn't be here for a 2nd visit if the two sides weren't close enough to get a deal done.

Haha yeah what i'm thinking. Not to rag on the guy, but seems like he's just trying to save the littlest bit of face after ESPN guys got the scoop, by getting in exact details. Be willing to bet alot that it's "Official" within next few hours

ESPN is still reporting that he has agreed to sign, but they are working out the final details. Basically they are saying it is closer to done than Rapaport is.

SiriusNFL news update just said that Allen is "on the verge" of signing with the Seahawks. It looks like it is probably going to happen, but a bunch of reporters are trying to jump the gun a bit to be the first to break the news.

He's not getting better, but he's also been the only pass rusher on a mediocre to poor defensive team for some time.

now imagine him with Avril/Bennett and a QB waiting for WRs to try and get open against our secondary

TBH, there's not much difference statistically speaking between any of those seasons, except his 22-sack one. The difference between 11 and 12 sacks is essentially nothing. 14.5 vs 11-12 could easily be random fluctuation and chance. I'm not particularly convinced that represents a true decline, unless people who have actually watched his film feel he's less effective.
