I could go for hours on how underrated Doug Baldwin was. Quickly forgotten after his shortened career.
- well known for having one of the best releases in the NFL
- became one of the best route runners, credit to Mr Largent's help
- top notch hands, with countless highlight grabs
- pitbull mentality, tough
- total team player, sacrificing stats with unselfish team 1st mentality, "we alright"
- Wilson's passer rating was 40 points lower without him

His personality leads me to think : if he was lucky enough to play in someone like Reggie Wayne's situation, and stayed healthy, he'd be in the Hall. Very underrated in importance to our championship team. He was Wilson's best receiver ever, and if you go watch that NFC Championship again, take note of who kept us in that game when the rest of the offense had their head up their asses in the 1st half. Starting with that kick return . Most underrated Hawk ever

Around here for a very long time, most of the haters believe he was a coward.
Yeah I've heard people say that but I don't understand it. He wasn't a coward he was smart with contact and it allowed him to put up massive numbers. Not everyone runs like Rawls, Lynch, Carson etc but I don't think that makes them cowards.

Sub ADB for Wes Welker or J Edelman and he 100% gets whatever accolades those guys have coming their way. Dude wasted his incredible talent running scramble drills his entire career.

What accolades are Walker and Edelman receiving that Doug hasen't? Those two guys were just posession receivers. Also, what exactly do you feel Baldwin is missing accolade wise? He was good for sure, but lets not pretend he was the next coming of Steve Largent.

I’ll pile on and say Shaun Alexander. His ankle and wrist injuries slowed him down in 2006. Before that, he was an amazing back here for a good 5 season run. Very special player. This site is legit the only place where I’ve seen negative comments against him. Very bizarre.

Kam Chancellor is also a good choice.

I’ll add Earl Thomas. Before his leg injury he was eraser on the back end. Very good safety. This franchise wouldn’t have won the Superbowl without his versatility back there.

Nah he meant bennie
I thought Benny was the bouncer at the Palais de Dance?

I'll go with Doug Baldwin as someone I wish had a shot at the HOF, but I don't think his average numbers would have gotten him in, even if he had played a few more years. He just wasn't used enough. What an incredible ambassador of football for Seattle and the NFL.

I have a football from the 2013 NFC Championship that I was able to photo-match to two of his runs, and one of the photographers - an incredibly generous man - sent me a blown-up print which is probably my favorite piece of Seahawks memorabilia other than the ball itself. At some point I would like to have him sign this photo. Unfortunately, look at how the photographer spelled Baldwin's name.

Yeah, SA might be looking at the hall if per game he could average 70 yards, at least 4 YPC, and a little over half a TD in 06 and 07. He probably could have done that without the injuries.

People hate him because he didn't run like Lynch or Earl Campbell. Its insane. Guy was a beast.
Agreed. Marcus Allen, Gale Sayers, Marshall Faulk, LaDanian Tomlinson, and Barry Sanders weren't mowing people down either. Quickness and speed were integral part of what they did best.

I think the biggest knock on Alexander wasn’t him necessarily, but that he was running behind two future Hall of Famer’s. Kind of like the argument of how good would Joe Montana have been without rice and Taylor.

Good point. However, so did Emmitt Smith. The difference is that SA got hurt and wasn't the same after the injury. Smith was more fortunate and had a long career.
