Have we not drafted any quality depth?

To DAvidSeven (my phone sucks for quoting) . The bengals are one my favorite drafting teams. But AZ has been blowing picks as bad or worse than Seattle the last three years. Arians and palmer have masked a lot of issues.

Even if we concede Arizona isn't great at drafting (they've definitely had some high profile misses), Seattle was still a lot worse from 2013-2014. AZ got a handful of key contributors/starters in those years. By my count, they took at least five guys who are better right now than anyone we took in either of those drafts.

Ultimately, between the 2013-2014 drafts, we scored nothing but question marks and a few guys who might be fringe depth on most NFL teams. We probably would have had more success going off an ESPN Auto-Draft tool in those two years than what we actually did (and yes, I stole that reference from you).

Most teams did terribly in that 2013 draft, which was one of the worst ever.

Seahawks came away with Jordan Hill, a key contributor in both the base and nickel defense who has shown a lot of growth against the run when he has been healthy. Carroll mentioned today that Hill has a good chance to return next week.

Luke Willson is an underrated player on this board. He has improved his hands and blocking, which were the two weakest aspects of his game.

Tharold Simon has been a very good corner when healthy, but his health is a question after multiple serious injuries.

All three of these players are under contract through 2016.

2014 draft was slightly better: Kevin Pierre-Louis is a good looking backup who should start next year, Justin Britt had the best year at RT of any rookie last year and is currently struggling to make the adjustment to LG on short notice, Paul Richardson will return next week off PUP, and Cassius Marsh has been a contributor but continues to develop as a pass rusher. These guys are locked up through 2017.

2015 draft has looked great to me. Tyler Lockett is a dynamic returner who will probably grow into the best WR on the roster, Frank Clark and Tye Smith are back this week, Mark Glowinski is likely to start at RG next year, and Kristjan Sokoli is a high ceiling player as one of the better athletes in the league.
