I'm just getting tired of every week seeing someone post a new thread about a writer that wrote an article that doesn't pain the Seahawks in a supremely favorable light and then talking about what a horrible writer that person is, has always been, and will always be. Some people are right, a lot of our fan base can't take any criticism at all when our team is now elite. Just because we're elite doesn't mean we lack flaws, and it also doesn't mean someone can't opine against the commonly held belief our fan base has about our team.

The fact of the matter is, there isn't a single NFL writer anyone can find to hate on that I can't find at least nearly as much support for us that they've written in the past year, if not more. If anyone's got a candidate they think can stump me, name him. Writers that half the people around here would actually recognize the name of only, please.

They are just opinions nothing more, nothing less. Not worth the energy to get stressed over IMHO. I don't put a lot of stock in what national writers say anyhow, but that's just me.

YAC is flashy, but it's far from needed, IMO. (I swear, I'm not trying to be combative; it's just that if you have a good medium-and-long passing game, you can spank opposing defenses without getting any YAC.) Plus, when players try to go for serious YAC, they're more likely to get injured by a strong safety blindsiding them and stuff like that as compared to say, throwing a bunch of medium-length out routes. I'd be perfectly fine watching Sidney Rice catch balls while falling out of bounds on the sidelines all day long, know what I mean?

Yes, to an extent. But I doubt there is empirical evidence that supports that assertion. :snack:

But ... Harvin is a whole different breed... you will really love having a receiver like him. Rice is a machine, but how often do you see him breaking tackles? I'm not critical - Sid is my one of my favorites (see avatar).

Tate and Harvin on the same roster is insane to think about. They both have a knack for breaking plays.

Oh, I already love having Harvin, and I will 10x as much after watching him this season. I'm not arguing against YAC, I'm just saying it's not something one should base an offense around. I'll take a guy that averages terrible YAC but has great hands than someone with great YAC and average hands.
