I love me some DK, fellow Rebels and all. He is at his prime but due to his recent mini slump, his trade value may not lower than it should. That got me thinking what's the best role for DK moving forward?

In his college and pro career, he was productive when he played WR2 to a slot WR. AJ Brown when he was a Rebel, Lockett after he joined the Hawks.

At this stage of his career, would he be happy to play second fiddle to JSN? Or he would lose interest and checked out?

Lately I am starting to accept that he may not be the second coming of magetron. But what's the best way forward?

If he could high point well, there would be a bigger role for him.
It baffles me how he doesn't jump when he should or catch well
when extended up.
I'm not sure how he's much of anything but a slot or an outside
decoy.
You got Barner beating you for EZ catches just on high pointing
alone.
He blocks well and plays hard most of the time but quits on routes
at the worst times.
I'm ok with trading him off, I think he's had enough time to show his
max talent(s) which underwhelms me most of the time.

As the best receiver on the team, and best player on the offense period, I would say you keep feeding DK and reap the benefits next season when he's healthier and presumably the talent and coaching improves.

JSN is the best receiver and it's not close. Better hands, better route running, better football IQ, doesn't let the defense get in his head, never seen him quite on a play or half ass a route. DK can block and run fast

Unlike Metcalf, JSN is more of a threat on jet sweeps, bubble screens, punt returns, etc, a Tyreek Hill type, more of a fart in a skillet. Metcalf is one dimensional.

His comments and "body language" make me wonder if he wants out of Seattle. We have seen him at his best and know what he can do, but giving up on routes is clearly not his best effort.
If he wants out, then he will go as a free agent or trade. But I hope he wants to continue as a Seahawk, past the 2025 season.
Maybe if we say good things about him here on the fourm, he will want to stay. :)

I think there's a chance that he's already lost interest and checked out.

As was mentioned, his body language doesn't look good. I also think that the fact that he doesn't commit as many personal foul penalties, isn't baited as easily, doesn't fight at the drop of a feather, positives in any other circumstance, could be an indication that he's lost his passion for the game, at least with us.

Megatron is a good example. What did his team accomplish during his career? How many playoff games did they win? How many Super Bowls?

I generally value great WR's a lot lower than most, and Metcalf/Megatron are great examples of why I feel that way: Physically gifted wide receivers that didn't do squat for their teams.

I think that DK Metcalf is playing injured right now, something is off about him. For the record, I'm of the opinion that he's not worth what he's being paid.

Unless you can get a huge haul for him, it's probably not worth offloading Metcalf, considering it would make our WR corps pretty lackluster. Lockett is 100 percent going to be gone given his performance and cap hit next year. One of the reasons JSN can do what he does is the attention teams have to put on Metcalf. Trading him would put another big hole in our roster that is already having issues scoring points.

How many time have you seen DK on one of those "What a Catch!!" videos? Yeah, he is big. Rarely wins the 50/50 balls. Not many Yards After Catch. I can't remember the last time I saw him get any separation on a slant route. A poor route runner responsible for 3 interceptions this season alone. Never understood the hype about him.

But he did subtly shove the defender away like he was a little grade school boy on the touchdown catch!

Yeah, because receivers NEVER push off while the defender is doing the same. Clearly, only DK does. This is football, receivers push off all the time. Defenders grab all the time. I can see that some things never change.
Checked out? Yeah right.
Just like the previous QB, at this point I'm hoping he gets traded so some people can stop whining about him :ROFLMAO:
And that's fine, that's WR for you, some people like how you play, plenty don't. Do you, but I just will never understand the hate for this guy, ever.

At least in my case, I can honestly say that I don't "hate" the man. IMO that's the most misused term in the English language. To me, to 'hate' someone means to wish that they were dead, and there's not many people on this planet that I can say that about, and certainly not a law-abiding football player of whom I've never met.

I don't think there's much doubt that Metcalf has been a disappointment. He is supposed to be our #1 receiver, but he hasn't produced, especially over the 2nd half of our season when we're in a playoff run. Then add in the things like his poor route running that was directly related to that last pick in a game that we had to have in order to control our own destiny and one can fully understand why many of us are so down on him. These aren't just random fans who are complaining about him. They are people of whom we both know are very good football minds, so there has to a logical reason for their disapproval other than some purely emotional response like "hate".

True, hate him as a player sounds more like it. I can't imagine many hate the guy as a person.
I stick to my opinion, the DISLIKE for him is ridiculous. To me.
I'm a DK fan, always will be. Truly don't care if others don't like the guy as a player. Just good football discussion. We all feel strongly about our opinions on stuff.
When he's gone, I have a feeling people will notice, a lot. And not in a good way.
