Hard to game plan the defense

With such a stark difference between Leonard and Rivers, and not knowing which QB we'll be facing, it's difficult to game plan the defense (not that it's ever easy).
I'm curious how .netters would attack Rivers vs Leonard.

The Colts signed Rivers because he knows the offense already. He coaches the same offense for a high school team (presumably a bit simpler....). I don't think you have to modify the game plan much to account for either QB - film of Jones running the offense is all that is really available to you, so that's what you use. Either way it's going to lean run heavy, but you have to assume that Rivers still has his arm and intelligence.

Stop the run. Relentless pressure on QB.

Maybe score more points?

We bank on our #1 rush defense to stop their top running attack. This is really all. No matter which qb they use they will lean in the run and quick passing game. Tacking is key this week. As long as we don’t have a lot of misses on the ball carrier we will be fine.

Stop the run, try not to kill a grandpa on the field. The latter will be more difficult.

Play sticky man coverage; no deep safety’s (especially if it’s Rivers) and run blitz. It’s a day for pressure.

'He coaches the same offense for a high school team.'

FFS, let that sink in. What the what does that even mean.

The only way we stand a chance of letting this game be close is if we shoot ourselves in the foot with turnovers and penalties. Barring that, this will be a beat down .
I've never said it before, but....

Book 'em, Danno!

I guess i'm the only one that has a fear they will take this game too lightly.

As for the defense, stop Taylor. The end.

I was actually just wondering if the entire reason that the Colts signed Rivers is to keep the defense from focusing on a gameplan vs. Leonard and having to cover if Rivers is in there instead. It is just such a crazy idea to pull a guy that old who hasn't played in so long out of retirement and be ready for NFL action in a week...especially against this defense.

There is a reason we are 14 point favorites - and it isn't because the sharps think we are going to lose.

Also if Riley Leonard plays - do we have an obligation the let Rylie Mills play so he can drive his former teammate into the ground like a fencepost?

We have shown some great halftime adjustments with this team. Am not worried. Like Its been said football is not tricking your opponent for 60 minutes. You either have the players or you dont.
