I've never said he wasn't hard to get along with or that he was a "swell guy". I'm just sayin' peeps just LOOK for reasons to "add to the legend" of douchbaggery.

Example...

I could talk about what a douche Carroll is because of the state he left USC in. Carroll left USC like "I was stunned to find out there was gambling in this establishment!!". I don't because it would be pretty clear I hated him because of his team...but I wouldn't be entirely incorrect. It would serve no purpose for me to start multiple threads about what a douche he is.

Then there's Richard Sherman.

I could probably find about 10 things he's done that make me think he's an a-hole...and I'm sure some of you would find a way to justify every single one of them.

My point here isn't to defend Harbaugh...its simply to wonder why you guys care so much what he does. Why are there skits on Seattle radio devoted to hating him. Why bother?

We talk about Seattle in the Bay because they are a good team and a rival...but the hate isn't anywhere near close to the heat coming from up north. Just makes me wonder why that is.

Did you ever watch Harbaugh play?

He was an asshole douchebag then, his own brother tells the story about having to watch his brothers back becasue he was so disliked growing up and freindless, in college he was a loaner and a douche. Nobody is taking anything away from his coaching ability, or his playing ability when he played, what everyone is saying is if Harbaugh was a Pro Wrestler he would be a heal, kicking guys in the sack and poking their eyes , he may still be a champion but his path to the trophy left a lot of collateral damage to get there so to speak.
Don't think anyone needs to watch Harbaugh's back. Especially his brother. John also has said that Jim was by far the superior athlete and was bigger than him at an early age. The guy was an NFL frickin athlete. He doesn't need his brother to watch his back.

But yeah, agree with the rest. It has been theorized that Harbaugh has asperger syndrome. Which would definitely explain his social ineptness, while also explaining his brilliance and intense determination as a coach

I hadn't ever heard that one. Bill Gates has aspergers.

I always thought Pete Carroll reminded me of Bill Clinton. Likable, clever, teflon coated, and with no shortage of enemies despite being a caring, do-good person. Yet, there is an undeniable "huckster" side to both men. They are just a little too good at being slick talkers to ever trust them completely.

On that same note, Harbaugh is starting to remind me of Karl Rove. A devious, unquestioned super-genius, but no option is off the table and at times he comes across like a Bond villain. The difference is, I think Rove has a blast doing what he does. Harbaugh is tormented by his own competitive nature gone out of control.

Few reasons:

(1) the 49ers have had more recent success than the Hawks. Therefore Seattle has had much more time to develop the hate

(2) Seattle is self-conscious of being a small-market compared to SF

(3) Seattle only has one NFL team in their market. The Bay area has 2, thus dividing up the hate instead of a strong concentration in the PNW

(4) Harbaugh is nationally recognized for his douchiness. It is something perpetuated by the national media. So, accordingly, the Hawks are exposed to these stories.

(5) Pete Carroll hasn't really done much since his term as Seahawks head coach to garner hate.

Jim Harbaugh loves football. More than anything. There is no way you can make this baseless claim

Umm no. Teams bring in camp arms all the time and teams leverage players in contract negotiations all the time. I believe they brought him in, in case McCoy was traded or if he wouldn't have lowered his contract. Its called insurance. Its called good business.

Part of it was that McCoy was absolutely ATROCIOUS the first 2 preseason games.

As a Democrat I have to despise the comparison (particularly Rove)...

...but I get your point. :)

No man poses a bigger threat to the Hawks success.. It makes sense every move he makes would be met with a thousand 'omg douche!' posts.

What lol? Just cause he's a threat to our success, doesn't make him a douche of a person. A lot of things he does are justified, it's just this time, with how he handled Wallace's situation, it wasn't good and he's rightfully being called out on it. Not every move he does is douchey, and most aren't, but this is one case in which it kinda was.
I agree he shouldnt have spoke for Seneca. My comment was more about overuse of the word douche around here, not just the hatin on harb cuz i get that...

Regardless of what you think of Harbaugh, you're kidding yourself or you're very naive if you think this type deal and worse doesn't happen all the time in the NFL, including with the Hawks. Its part of the game, people get used all the time.

I think if old Peetie did it, you guys wouldn't even bat an eyelash. And the funny part is he probably has and you just don't know it.

So, dig it up. Don't do theory, provide proof. You dropped probably, Effin make that shit real. Or crawl back to your hole.

He has no idea how to evaluate wide receivers and I think it's some kind of childish thing to sign them from the people that beat him.

He signed Manningham away from the Giants after they beat him, he got Boldin from the Ravens after they beat him, he signed Rockette which was a complete waste, but hey if it made him happy...and then Harper, I'm chuckling because while Chris has potential, he's a year or two away from putting it all together. In the meantime, he will continue to drop passes when under pressure, and you know that his current situation provides plenty of that.

The story is that Seattle fought to keep Harper but lost out but there could be another side to that story, maybe they wanted that signing to cost SF as much as possible? Personally, I don't see that talent with Chris Harper which is why they cut him to begin with.

I'll give SF credit though, they drafted Quinton Patton who would have been my choice over Harper.

I'm curious, could SF have picked Harper up off of waivers? Or did they wait until his was on the PS just to be an ass about it?

But but but, casting aspersions which may or may not have any basis in reality is so much easier than Googling!

Do I really need to sit here and find other similar deals to prove to you guys that this type of deal goes on in everyones camp? Do you really think that Harbaugh is the only coach, owner, or PLAYER that uses "leverage"?

Give me a break!

No breaks. I don't even necessarily think you are wrong. I just think you are talking out of your ass and want you to own your words.

Taking advantage of a player's knowledge who used to play on another squad is one thing I would expect from any competent coaching staff. Flynn helped Pete know more about the Packers last year for sure. But Flynn was not signed for that reason.

Snagging a player just to get insights is just plain douchebaggery, IMO. Doesn't say much about the competition for that final roster spot either. I can't say the Niners are guilty of that here, but if Harper is off the roster after 3 weeks we will have our answer.

The only reason it's such a big deal to you guys is because it's Harbaugh or the 49ers. I am not saying it's the right way to do business. I am saying it happens all the time and I am not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend it doesn't.

To me its just like years ago when the world got so bent over what happened at Abu Ghraib prison. Everyone was up in arms over how prisoners were being tortured and abused. Does that mean it doesn't happen anywhere else? Just means they got caught. Same situation here, not the first guy to do this type of thing, just got caught and in typical Hawk fan fashion, you guy jumped all over it.

apparently your spending so much time defending our coach, QB and team over here you don't go back home often enough to realize how full of shit you are.

Pete on your boards is known as Pete the cheat. Now lets get real about this. That is pure fabrication based very loosely on events that have happened beyond his control and knowledge but it doesn't stop Niner fans from over using that little nickname at every possible chance.

The problem you are having here is Pete and Wilson are not providing your fan base with any ammunition to complain about and that is why you hang so heavily onto the cheater label. It is also why we laugh at you because we know it is just s pissy fan base acting out.

Harbaugh and Kaep on the other hand both have provided tons of material for Seahawks fans and the rest of the football world to laugh at and joke about. They both are making their own bed and neither is due to actions of other people and it tears you up inside every time another article comes out about the douchery of you beloved hero's.

No one here is making anything up or blaming Harbs or Kaep for things outside of their control. The things we are laughing about are all current events and actions by the men themselves. You don't like it? Well I don't blame you. I would be embarrassed as hell if my coach and QB were constantly being portrayed in the media as douche bags but don't act like it is the Seattle fans creating this hype. They are the ones doing these stupid things. We are just laughing about it.

Maybe you should tell your coach and QB to stop providing us and the media with this stuff but as long as they are volunteering to be idiots, we are going to laugh at their (and your expense)

Something else to keep in mind. If Niner fans weren't over here trying to defend the honor of idiots we wouldn't have anyone to argue with this about. You are as much of the problem as your coach and QB.
