They lost a close game to a good team that won their division last season, largely due to really good pitching.
Cal, Julio, and Naylor went 0 for 11, which I very much doubt we're going to see most games.
I wasn't a big fan of bringing in Legumina in the 8th and then Criswell in the 9th in a 1 run game, but we didn't end up scoring in those innings anyway, those 2 are our only guys that got "worn down", and they're 2 of our worst relievers. Everyone else is still fresh as a daisy.
6 hits to 14 strikeouts is a bummer to see in game 1 for sure, but it's way too small of a sample size to be jumping to any conclusions about what this team is or isn't.

@Shane Falco. Our lineup is much better than it was last season on opening day, and I'll be very surprised if games like what we saw last night are the norm for this team. Both Naylor and Donovan are low K, high on base guys. We basically didn't have any of those kinds of bats last season until they picked up Naylor at the deadline. Now we have 2 very good ones.
