Rice must be healthy or Williams must grow up quick (Really liking William's straight ahead speed). Sydney Rice and Zach Miller are crucial for passing success.

Tate is a good supplemental player. Is like a running back after the catch. Has good hands and will fight for the ball. The problem is separation. He doesn't give it. He is best used in "bunch formation" rub plays (aka "pick plays") verse man defense, bubble screens, and dragging underneath. To be effective, because of his lack of separation, he requires a tall speedy wideout to occupy both a safety and corner.

Zach Miller is the guy we absolutely need. Not just for the passing game. Christine Michael gains 15-25 more yards against the Charger starting defense if Miller is in the game. With Willson, Michael was four yards and a cloud of dust. Willson has his place and time to be effective, but it isn't in the run game. That is for sure. If Seattle is a run first team, Zach is absolutely crucial.

I wish Tate didn't get compared to Wines Hard. Makes me sad. Tate doesn't jump up and argue for flags every time he drops the ball.

we don't know if he will or not because he doesn't drop balls

(for the record, Tate has 2 registered drops in his entire NFL career - both were in the game against SF).

I was referring to Wines Hard's tendency to jaw at the refs every time he thought a flag should be thrown, usually anytime a play didn't go his way and regardless if a foul was warranted or not. Not on Tate dropping balls. Hence why the comparison between the two baffles me.

Sadly, this is kind of the truth. I've met a number of fantasy players who think that Tate wasn't very good last year. The concept of spreading the ball around and big plays is a foreign concept to a lot of people.

Golden Tate is money. Our most valuable receiver, IMO.

He gave a great interview on Brock and Danny this morning: http://mynorthwest.com/category/pod_player_sports/?a=9960106&p=1007&n=Brock and Danny

Love hearing him talk about his road to becoming a seasoned, veteran receiver and how Russell's work ethic and winner's attitude rubs off on him and the whole team. Also nice to hear more confirmation of what we've talked about since he was first drafted (him being raw and not being able to just come in and out "athlete" the competition like in HS and college).

I've always been ecstatic about his fire and the insane circus stunts he's able to pull off - probably the most entertaining player to watch on a team FILLED with such guys. So I don't agree with the "can't get separation" comments and general downplaying of his game. It will be a sad day if we're ever unfortunate enough to lose his talents.

If, heavens forbid, that ever happens, I won't ever sound like one of those whiner fans that come on here so often, bad mouthing & downplaying a player that they've lost (while just the week before touting them as the greatest thing since sliced bread!). But then I try to avoid such blatant sour grapes BS just in general. I just can't envision ever being able to rationalize away losing him. Sure hope we get him wrapped up long term this year.

I love Sid's spectacular sideline toe-tappers and the insane level of effort from Dougie Fresh. We'd have to find someone to directly replace their particular roles, but Golden is one player I can't seeing us readily finding a replacement through the draft or free agency. Some of his qualities are things that Harvin can do even better (although they play different positions), but look who's out on the field right now.

Tate has unquestionably been lucky not to have been injured during his antics, but the bottom line is that he's been more durable in the long run. Having that Ferrari sitting up on blocks is no fun. It's pretty, but you're still afraid that it's only a matter of time before it's back in the shop again. I don't get that sense with Golden.

I agree he's the man, I don't know about all that FF talk, i don't partake, but there was a problem with our recievers getting seperation in the first half of the season.
