GIFs not working?

Not sure if I'm late to the party on this, but the last 5 gifs or so I've tried to either copy/paste into the message box or download and attach have only showed up as a still image.

Am I doing something wrong? Seemed like this exact same method was working earlier this year.

When I do this exact same thing on other message boards, it works. Just fyi.

You should be able to click "GIF" about this ^ and then it should pull them up.

That works, but does that mean we are limited to just those gifs listed in there? What if I want to make my own or use one from another site?
