ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on NFL Insiders Monday that the Giants are willing to listen to offers for Hakeem Nicks.
This comes directly on the heels of a Jason La Canfora report that "several teams" are preparing offers in an effort to acquire Nicks from the 0-6 Giants.

Like Britt, he will be a free agent after this season. This season he is making $2.725 million.

Current teams interested are Niners, Falcons, Pats, Lions, and Ravens.

No thanks. Too many other people here that we need the money for. We have good receivers, we just need better routes and time for them to get open.

I don't like how there appears to be several good WRs available for trade. The 9ers are likely to end up with Nicks or Britt.

Meh, I'm not sure the 9ers go for Britt given his run-ins with the law; last thing they need. I can see them going for the guy drafted one before him though. Atlanta's also a possible landing spot for Nicks given their recent injuries.

We're likely going to be looking for a guy to replace Sidney (unless he restructures). I wouldn't mind seeing Gordon here but not sure we'd give up much for him. I think it's more likely we find cheaper options via draft and use Sid's money on Earl/Sherm.

Nicks is a good player. I wouldn't mind if Pete made the trade. Even if Rice was trade bait.

However, I also think the bank balance is already being rearranged to pay Mr Sherman and Mr Thomas.

I just hope the Niners don't get him.

Don't think you need to worry about that. Manningham started practicing again today, and Crabtree is back for the last third of the season too. Basically, by the time Nicks could get up to speed in the offense the 9ers WRs are going to be healthy again and there wouldn't really be space for him.

The 9ers FO also obsessively sticks to their plan as far as contracts go (which the Hawks will probably start doing as well this off-season), and I can't see them giving up a pick on a half-season rental, particularly for someone who has already been injured all season. Nicks also doesn't fit their preference for WRs (Manningham is kind of the outlier, and they really focus on big, strong guys who can muscle out receptions and run block)

Also, I think all NYG WR's are overrated due to Eli's play. When Eli's on, he could make me a 400 yard receiver.

Why would any contending team trade for the right to overpay Nicks? I don't trust any Giant receiver away from Eli. His reckless play causes INTs but it also helps his WRs pad their stats. Dude would not be a premiere WR outside of NY IMO.

If you could get Nicks for a sixth, would that be worth a half-year rental that might put you over the top? I can see why SF would send one of their eighty-two draft picks over to the Giants. Pair Nicks with a returning Crabtree, a returning Manningham, and Vernon Davis, and the offense looks WAY better than it does now. That could be the difference between a loss in the Divisional Round and a Lombardi for them.

If you can't re-sign him after that, at least you have your trophy.

Atlanta needs this guy badly for a half-year rental with Julio Jones out and Roddy White out as well. They showed they are willing to trade their draft for a reliable WR, which Hakeem is.

Problem with ATL doing that is two-fold:

1. They aren't catching NO to win the division, and they probably won't catch whatever combination of SEA/SF/GB/CHI/DET is going to win the wild cards.

2. They are already hurting for depth because they couldn't draft it with the picks they traded to get Jones in the first place. They need to hold onto their picks for the next two or three years and draft cheap, effective talent badly. They have no depth, and the injuries outside of the WR corps are exposing this.

That would just cost them the first overall pick in the draft.

With their mediocre draft history, it would probably be worthwhile for SF, but I don't think NY is giving him up for a sixth. Also, SF would probably have to cut salary just to make it work for this year alone. They already cut depth at the end of their roster earlier this year, and it came back to bite them when Aldon went out.
