Sam Darnold has been liked by every locker room he's been in. He never said one bad thing about the fans of the team he was on, no matter what was said about him.

They friggin made fun of him when he had Mono for god's sake!!

Sam just lets things slide off his back and focuses on what he can control (being an NFL QB) and accepting what he can't (fans being a-holes).

And I'm sure he'll get heckled at some point during the season (that's the price of being a QB) but those expecting him to flip off Seahawks fans like Geno did will be very disappointed.

Seriously dumb move by him, just say Gee-No thanks.

Thankfully he’s gone. Will not miss him. Truly he was not anything more than a me player here with a fragile ego and dubious personality. That ego/personality was his weakness.

It's a middle finger, dude. We're adults. We're Seahawks fans. The most ridiculous, amazing period in our teams history was the result of an insanely belligerent attitude the league hadn't yet seen and has not seen since.
Umm...I think I've seen this before. I was a Bears' fan growing up. We had some teams with some pretty belligerent attitudes.

I want my guys giving the finger too. When the hell did this fetish for choir boys start? I want Darnold giving the finger to signs saying he sees ghosts in Minnesota if they're waved in his face in the tunnel, and if anyone on this forum can honestly say they'd get all pissy over it, I mean... come on. That's just sad.

Unless, of course, this is just hating on a guy from another team for that reason rather than actual outrage over the action itself, in which case, carry on. Doesn't read like it though.

Dude, it’s the same sentiment as…

I can call my sister a bitch but nobody else can.

I’d guess most of want our guys to walk around with a chip, and say eff you to anyone that gets in their way.

Geno was pretty much a nobody, and the only reason he currently has any relevance is 99.9 % about and because of the Seahawks.

He got more support from our fan base than he ever got anywhere else.

I believe most of us that have issues with this incident do so because it makes him appear very ungrateful for the love he got while in Seattle.

You’re not wrong, I just think you didn’t pick up on the subtleties.

Geno hasn't changed in all these years. It's why he has changed teams so often and was almost washed out of the league before he came here.

No appreciation for his career being given one last chance. Nope, he was disrespected here apparently.
No one realizes his greatness quite like Geno does.
Goodbye, good riddance, Geno.
I will not miss you.

You'd have to ignore pretty much every available piece of context to contort yourself into thinking flipping off one heckler with a sign that Pete Carroll already tried to snatch is the same as being ungrateful toward the whole fanbase.

If anyone is offended by this on a level other than "screw the opposing team guy no matter what", they wanted to be offended to begin with.

You have to ignore all the previous stupid shit this guy has done to not understand he’s just a douche.

Exactly, there are idiot fans out there. We all see it. Some players are mature enough to realize it and simply ignore the stupidity.
Geno, is so very far from being a mature adult. He is not ever going to be a good leader of men or a team.
He thinks he is being disrespected by a team that saved his career and offered him more than any other team was willing to sign him for.
He may be a gifted thrower of the ball he just lacks all the other qualities needed to be a great QB.
Goodbye good riddance Geno.

Thank you for proving my point that none of this is about the action of flipping off the sign guy itself and has everything to do with how people already felt about the guy.

Thought we were supposed to move on, guys?

It's both put together. Geno should have ignored it but instead he chooses to respond because as he has shown over and over again he is an immature, self centered, and egotistical person.

That “fan’” is a complete dick. I’m all for Geno doing what he did.

1) Geno lost his cool. He has issues that way. I don't understand how some people are fine when DK blows up but Geno is Satan. Both gone, just an observation....

2)Sometimes, when there's a fan-centered incident, I wonder where John63 was at that moment. Geno ruined his torrid love affair with RCW. ...could he have turned from the internet to Sharpies and posterboard?

3)If we're still talking about a Thursday pre-season game on Sunday: we're dumb, we're starved for football, the NFL marketing team is getting a raise.
