Geno and DK on the outs?

Players get frustrated so I'm not sure there's actually beef there. Regardless, we know DK to be highly emotional. This works in our favor, at times. It works against us at other times (and I'm not sure it'd ever work again without Pete there, as he was the type of coach that knew how to gas up a volatile player and juice their best play out of them).

I'm not sure that Mike is especially keen on DK's type. He craves discipline and structure. His comments about the INTs and calling them "Team interceptions" leads me to believe he was not a fan of DK blowing that route and causing that second INT.

If there was ever a time I felt like DK could be traded, it's this year prior to the deadline. The Chiefs make sense, and they've got two stud guards. One of them is 25, iron-man healthy, and a top-15 guard in the NFL easily - and they're about to have to pay him. Meanwhile, at WR, the cupboard is pretty much bare outside of Rice and some younger "potential" types.

I have never wanted DK traded. I believe he's a rare type of WR - the physical unicorn. I think great teams usually collect as many "unicorn" types as they can and try to marry them into a cohesive on-field product. If they do trade DK, though, it should be imminently, and hopefully we can get the Chiefs to cough up Trey Smith and a sweetener, say a third and fifth rounder.
100% do the trade to KC only if we get one of their OGs and a draft pick. I'd settle for a 4th/5th rounder with a guard. Doubt it happens, though.

It explains why Geno keeps force throwing the ball to DK. “Here bruh, catch it if you keep complaining about wanting the ball.”

knowing DK, he drops the ball/lazy ass route running.
I tend to side with Geno in this regard. Metcalf has had plenty of opportunities. He's the 5th most targeted receiver in the league. Over our past 3 games, all losses, Metcalf has caught less than 50% of the balls thrown his way. Plus, we all know that Metcalf has an ego, that he is easily baited, that he doesn't always make smart decisions.

While winning heals all wounds, losing has a way of bringing out the worst in people. If we don't start winning and doing it soon, this could boil over and get real ugly. Geno hasn't always been the most congenial of teammates.

I've been on the trade DK side since last year and his many on the field outbursts. Aside from him being a distraction, his hands and route running are an issue and they both keep him from being elite, it's exactly like having TO with worse route running. This team simply cannot win a superbowl paying him big money and not spending it on OL. I don't envision a DK being part of this team and holding a Lombardi up at the same time. Now is the time while his trade stock is near its highest, we're not winning a superbowl here while he is on the team. Outside of Jerry Rice, nearly all of the GOAT WR's don't have a ring.

I would love an elite Guard but would be shocked if they did it, mahomes has shown he can be good without elite wr’s and you want to protect him. But you never know? DK and Mahomes together would probably be fun to watch and hard for Seahawks fans.

Wouldn't be hard on me even if he was their sb MVP. I would just be happy that John finally pulled his head out of his ass and got serious about big boy football

Trade for Guard(s) and picks. DK to the AFC. Run the football play defense and grind out first downs. JSN, Bobo, Lockette works for me. I think best offer will take DK in a couple weeks, too.

Me too. Also signal a philosophy change that Macdonald is more concerned about big boy trenches football.

I wish post titles had to contain the last name of the writer whose article was being linked, so I'd know which posts to skip.

He's good but not elite good.. I still cannot believe how bad he is at high pointing
the ball and the lazy route running is unacceptable to me.
Is that how the game is today, just play when you feel up to it?
Not to mention the drops

He’ll make an unbelievable catch and then drop two simple passes that make you scratch your head in confusion

I feel like if I were a GM, I'd treat WR's like Ron Wolf treated QB's.
I mean they kinda do matter. The problem you see is less talented WR's can't get open and Mahomes or Prime Wilson don't have anywhere to go but OL is definitely more important. The casual media/fans overhype them because they make the sexy plays but what good are they if you can't get the ball out.

Cooper basically went for a third round pick today. Good for the Bills, The Browns look like they are ready to blow things up

Do you remember 2-3 years ago when he was wide open in the EZ and the ball
hit him right in the face shield, I could not believe that happened.
As you say he does drop some real easy ones that a jag would get.

My all-time favorite DK moment is when he celebrated too early against Dallas. I thought Leon Lett moments weren't a thing anymore.

I felt like it's hard for anyone except the coaches and players to judge if a route was executed right or wrong. I know for sure that I can't tell if a WR ran the wrong route or he was delayed a split second by a CB or the QB throw the ball too early or too late etc.

One thing me as a fan can sometimes tell would be if a WR was open.
Murph from top billin' has done at least 2 or 3 episodes with a bunch of highlights detailing DK's route running issues.

I was cutting him some slack for raw effort/dragging 3 guys with him at the end of plays - but the issues are well detailed.....
