But they also have decisions to make on DK, Tyler, Nwosu, Jones and what the hell to do with the O Line in free agency and the draft.

I haven't seen the interview yet but Corbin Smith said that Mike MacDonald today said, and I'm paraphrasing, " I wish I could announce a new Geno contract right now, but Geno is going to be the week 1 starter and he's excited to watch him in Kubiak's system."

Time to move on from geno and take his cap money to get a better OLine and an edge rusher that can get home reliably. If not the team will continue to be stuck in mediocrity that is present reality.

Whatever happens with a Geno extension I seriously hope they make a move for a QB early in this draft. Partly because if that one doesn't work out they get another one next year. It is a priority that we work toward our next QB instead of focusing on the one we have. Don't get me wrong, I like Geno despite his warts. But I cannot see any wisdom at all in failing to recognize he is on his last hooraw and we need to be working on our next move starting NOW.
