My brain is too slow to process what the violation is.

^^^^ Yeah. A "precedent" that gives the NFL carte-blanche to accuse NFL players of something they never did in order to take money from them.

It was a text book hip-drop tackle. From the Google AI search...

The NFL's hip-drop tackle rule
bans the technique where a player grabs a ball carrier with both arms, swivels their hips to unweight and rotate their body, and then lands on and traps the runner's legs below the knee. This action is considered a foul, resulting in a 15-yard penalty and an automatic first down, though fines and warnings are also being issued for unflagged infractions. The rule was implemented in the 2024 season to improve player safety.

What the rule prohibits
  • A defender grabs the runner with one or both hands or arms.
  • The defender then unweights themselves by swiveling and dropping their hips and/or lower body.
  • The defender lands on and traps the runner's leg(s) at or below the knee.
Penalty and enforcement
  • If flagged during a game, the penalty is 15 yards and an automatic first down.
  • The NFL has also emphasized that it will issue fines for hip-drop tackles even if a penalty flag isn't thrown, noting that the rule is being enforced through follow-up disciplinary action like fines and warning letters.
  • To be called as a foul, all three specific indicators must be present. Officials are trained to be cautious and only make a call if it is "clear and obvious".
In the instance with Luvu, #4, starts off the play with his feet on the Seahawks logo. JSN runs into the open zone catches the ball. At the 13 second mark, #4 grabs JSN by the hips, then using momentum, unweights his body by swiveling and dropping all his body weight onto JSN, and lands on JSNs legs. Not to mention there was no need for this kind of tackle as two other Commanders were there to stop JSN from going any further on the play.

It was a no call on the field, if I remember correctly. But that BS play style could have ended JSN's stellar season. I'm glad this guy is getting suspended. He's been warned several times! There's no need for that kind of tackle.

Damn, what did he do? He made a tackle.
Actually there are angles that clearly show the technique that drew the suspension.

I’ll see what I can find.

This image shows exactly what the NFL is trying to avoid.

Although this is not the one against us, it clearly shows how the defender ends up landing on the legs of the player being tackled. This picture is in fact Frankie in one of his previous infractions.

If he had injured JSN we all would be furious and calling for his head.

This is in fact what he did to our player.

I’m still looking for a good picture.

Suspension has been adjusted to a $100k fine.
What they do is what it is.

Fact is that’s a very dangerous technique and the NFL has banned it (rightfully so IMO).

Hopefully this guy, who appears isn’t going to change his style doesn’t end a season or career for someone.

Imagine for a moment what we’d be saying if JSN had surgery scheduled to repair a broken Tib/Fib following that play?

Probably because they saw what I saw : NOTHING.

But they couldn't admit they were wrong so they decided to take money away from him.

This NFL should stand for National Friggin' Losers.

If he didn’t do it then the union can and would fight it. I haven’t looked at the play closely but hip drop tackles used to be a normal method of tackling and if you aren’t looking for it specifically you probably wouldn’t notice it to be egregious a lot of the time. This is a rule that was added in the last few years for player safety.
