Eugene Robinson was a great player for us back in the day. A Safety who is in our Top 50 players of all time. My question is, unlike other alumni Top 50 players, Eugene rarely comes back to celebrate big games or events. Hell, even Chad Brown who made it clear he was a Steeler at heart, comes around to celebrate and represent as a Seahawks alumni.

I get that he has been the color analyst for the Carolina Panthers for many years now (and did play for them briefly), but it just seems odd to me that we rarely see him in any Seahawks alumni capacity. Anyone have any insights or thoughts?

I dont think eugene ever felt like this team or city was home. He was an east coast guy with a huge personality and when he was here, we were bad. He wad one of the few bright spots on an otherwise poor overall team - though he played on some solid defenses here.

When he left, he went to 3 consecutive SBs , 2 with GB and one with Atlanta. On the heals of playing for one of the worst teams in the league while he was here in Seattle, the success he had in GB and Atl was likley more than enough to erode whatever 'home' ties he had here.

Good points. I never thought about it that way. Screw him then. 😂

Yeah, he never seemed like a guy who cared for his time in Seattle. Much like Joey Galloway.
Yup. Was going to mention him.

Add Sam Adams and Michael Sinclair to that list. I know from a personal exchange I had with Sam that he didn't care for Seattle at all. Granted neither played for Seattle as long as Eugene did.

Good call, I forgot about Sinclair and Adams. Here's another one: Pete Kendall.

Yeah. When I told Sam I was a Seahawks fan and that i followed him since, (met him at a Ravens event) he literally said 'Ew. Why?'
Stuff like that kind of bothered me when I was younger, but after having to spend 3 years in south Louisiana, I understand. Not every place is for everyone.

Gotta think a little about who the owners and coaches were and I'm guessin there's more than a few past hawks that were treated poorly by mgmt back then
We were pretty bad for lotsa years and as we all know it starts at the top on down so I got nothin against em
