I've notice on the Saints and 49ers forums they're talking about forcing Wilson to roll to his left is the key to beating the Hawks. Where are they getting this information? Any stats that shows this? I know being right handed it's harder throwing across your body for any right handed QB. I haven't seen Wilson really have any issues doing this during games though. The pass that Kearse dropped during the Saints game, Wilson rolled left and put it where it needed to be. I just don't see him rolling to his left being a weakness for him. In fact, I think since his played baseball as a 2nd baseman, it has probably helped him when he has to roll left.
Thoughts?
1. I agree with others here that middle infielders enjoy a more robust skill set than specialists like pitchers reliant on their fastball.
2. Other fan communities follow their teams much more closely compated to opponents. So .... they resort to relying on statistics in isolation from the actual game action of opponents. A lot of inferences can be generated by statistical speculation. Unfortunately validating inferences is an exercise few fans engage in.
3. Inspiration for the speculation you mention comes from statistical sites and presentations such as this example >>>>> [urltargetblank]http://nflsavant.com/game.php?team_code=SEA&team_id=4600&game_id=REG[/urltargetblank]
4. We all need to remember to be fair and smart about how statistics are used.
