You're far too trusting.

Not so. I trust you will never write anything positive about Jeff Fisher. ;)

There isn't anything positive done by Fisher to actually write about. We don't live by the "if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say anything" motto around here.

I trust Fisher will do the same thing to your trust that the last 5 rams coaches have done...CRUSH IT. The only difference is that THIS time it will be a long, drawn out, painful crushing.

I love Foles and this was a great move. This will save them money ultimately because he'd fetch 16 million easy next year, I think more like 18. He's a step above Dalton and a step below Flacco. He lead the team in a manner that hasn't been seen in Rams park since KW13. Very excited for the future of the Rams. Add this to STL task force clearing major legal hurdles to the new stadium and you have a winning atmosphere in STL. I just hope the fans don't act like a bunch of burns outs and stay at home because of Stan.

Excellent two weeks for STL. I recently bought my tix for week one. Gonna be a tone setter both ways, fellas. So excited!!!

I really hope you are being sarcastic, Foles is hot garbage. I'm glad they signed him to an extension as they'll suck with him.
I agree Foles is a step-down from Bradford and I love this move from a Seahawks perspective.

I think we can agree QB's are ultimately judged on W's and L's. Wilson is a great example of this. He doesn't put up huge stats every year like Aaron Rogers or Manning but he's getting pretty much the same money. Wilson is a winner.

Foles lifetime record is 14-4. The second round pick and salary savings completed the robbery. It was time to go another direction after Sam refused to take a pay cut.

If everything goes by script, stopping Nick Foles is not going to be the focal point for SEA in the second meeting of the season. It's gonna be stoping Gurley. So I can't really pound my fist for Foles when I know the offense isn't going to center around him first. Rams are a running team. Nick's job is to take advantage of the fact defense have to focus on the running game. It's like having Jackson or Faulk back on the team. It just never felt right not seeing an elite RB on our team after Jackson left. Between him and Faulk, STL saw more than a straight decade of stellar RB play. I'm glad to have that back more than a winning QB, really. I love the running game! (That's also why I have respect SEA over the years. Alexander and Lynch have been fun to watch when they weren't playing my STL Rams. Seahawks to me are STL's biggest rivals because I started being a fan in 99 and Seahawks swapped with the Saints. It was forged pretty fast, really.)

Gonna be a great season. Can't wait for week 1!!!

Rams sign Foles to contract extension
By Jim Thomas

Without throwing a pass for the Rams in the regular season, or even the preseason, the Rams have seen enough in Nick Foles. They signed their new starting quarterback to a two-year contract extension Friday, shortly before the start of the team’s practice/scrimmage at Lindenwood University.

Confirmed contract details weren’t immediately available, but Foles will be under contract through the 2017 season with the Rams. Initial reports via ESPN said it was a two-year extension for $24.5 million. Other reports indicated that $14 million was guaranteed.

“It’s his baby now,” said coach Jeff Fisher, who announced the deal after Friday’s practice. “This is his team. So we’ve got to go win games.”

The Rams have more than a dozen players, either starters or key role players, with contracts that expire at the end of this season. Foles, who was acquired in the Sam Bradford trade in March, was at the top of the list.

“I think from the moment we made the trade, we always knew we wanted to try to find a way to get Nick some security,” Rams executive vice president Kevin Demoff said. “And for us to be able to plan for the long-term future with Nick at quarterback. We looked at a lot of different ideas and concepts, and spent a few months with his representatives trying to come up with something that made sense for both sides.”

Foles, 26, earned a Pro Bowl berth with Philadelphia in 2013 _ a season in which he threw 27 touchdown passes and only two interceptions. But he struggled in 2014, and missed half the season with a broken collarbone.

“I’m blessed,” Foles said after practice. “I’m just really thankful to Mr. (Stan) Kroenke, Coach Fisher, Les (Snead), and Kevin. I’m just thankful to be here _ be with these guys. . . .It really is a honor to be here and be wanted here.” :0190l:
Wow, that's risky as hell. I'm glad our worries center on if Russ is worth first tier money.

Wow, that's risky as hell. I'm glad our worries center on if Russ is worth first tier money.

There is risk involved but its not foolhardy risk. The Rams lock up their starting QB for 3 years in the hopes of establishing continuity within the offense. Folks and Cignetti and the O line get time to get the system. The Rams will be a rushing offense during that time giving Foles a chance to find some familiarity within the system and time to gel with his WRs. The hope is Gurley will be worth the gamble and will be healthy for 2016 thus giving offenses the need to account for him while Mason or a WR are open. Rams haven't had a player since Jackson who had to make the defense put a spy on him. Doing so opens so much up I'm excited for the future, the near future!

For Foles it locks in a substantial pay raise and if he excels in year 3 he can do something well in his favor as I'm too enveloped in bacon vapors to remember now. For the Rams it gives what is hoped a competent QB at an excellent price to run if not excel in the system while biding time for the development of Mannion or another QB should Foles leave via free agency or injury and preferably not needing to use a draft pick on the position for a few years. :0190l:

Gonna be a great season. Can't wait for week 1!!!

Where you getting this?
Everything I found has him at 15-10. http://www.footballdb.com/stats/qb-records.html

Better stuff here than in the shack, though.

Foles gets a bad rap because he slid in production last year. But that slide is relative to where he was the year before. Looking at last years DYAR and DVOA, he would have represented a HUGE upgrade from what the Rams had. Ultimately, not a lot worse than Wilson who also dropped off a bit last season. Looking at the year before that, Foles was second only to Peyton Manning in DVOA. That's a level of play the Rams haven't seen in well over a decade.

Now consider that the Rams have a vicious defense and the typical Ram loss is 13-10 and everyone leaves saying, wow, that was a tough win. But it was a win. That's what has kept the Rams out of contention. Their offense can't get the job done. Well, they just got at the very least a Game Manager level QB who possibly could turn out to be better than that. Even if Foles is at best a Game Manager, the Rams will be a much tougher win.

This is a big improvement for their team.

You're still far to trusting. Fisher has an epic mustache. :stirthepot:

Epic ?

Maybe an overstatement, but I had to say something positive to prove Rex wrong. Then again, I don't think he's learned the definition of proof in school yet. 8)

My 15 semester hours of calculus credit PROVES I have. :0190l:
