This isn’t about how many penalties were against the Seahawks… I’ve seen it discussed here before but last night’s game was the first time I’ve felt a game being slowed down due to flags. On one play the were 3 times a flag was thrown before the ball could be snapped. Is there a stat guru that can see if the amount of flags thrown has increased compared to last year? Id try, but I’m internet challenged 😂. As a rabid Seahawks fan (casual NFL fan) I would have a hard time being interested in watching other teams play with the delays. I know there’s rules, but it’s just to the point where I’m expecting a flag, a conference, then an explanation after every play.

Is it just me?

It is not just you. It does seem to be a lot of flags being thrown so far this year. Each year the referees have "points of emphasis" so they throw more flags trying to get the players to play a certain way. There has been lots of discussion on several other forums on this topic. If this keeps up and the referees continue at this pace we might as well call it the "RFL" Referees Football League.
