This article is completely wrong (or at least uses very misleading stats). The pass play stats from the one yard line...none of those were slants they were all play action passes where the QB can either hit a wide open receiver or throw it away with no chance of an INT. The pass that Bevell called was a quick timing pass across the middle where a million things can go wrong including what happened the last time we tried it down there....the ball bounces off the receivers hands and gets picked off. If Bevell wanted to throw he should have brought in the goal line package (there was plenty of time...lynch was tackled with more than 45 seconds left) and go play action. Wilson could either run it in himself, hit a wide open receiver, or throw it away. What they did instead was beyond stupid.
