I wouldn't exactly say that the O carried the D. How many points came as a result of a takeaway?

Russ looked so calm and poised. So refreshing to see this.

The defense gave up 38 freaking points. To their credit we stopped them on their last drive after the first first down. Someone got a game saving shoe string tackle on second down.
However there is no way we win this game without the offense having a very very good game. Russel Wilson was a Houdini in the pocket. Some games he slides into sacks but not today. He was just incredible all game.
Too many dropped passes again but yes the offense did in fact pick up the defenses slack today.

IMO that's the way it's supposed to be. Strong defense, offense that scores when it needs to. The criticism of this offense was always overblown in the sense that...we have a star Qb who makes plays when we need him, and doesn't force it.

The Texans offense is proof that explosive offenses come with a down side, risky plays. They had 3 turnovers. I like Pete's philosophy

What was supposed to be low scoring defensive battle turned into an offensive show. At least we now know that the Seahawks are capable of scoring 40+ points; even without a run game.

Bennett got the trip on 2nd down otherwise that game is over.

Game of inches, friends.

5 sacks, 3 INTs....including the pick 6 and another that lead to a FG

Evaluating our offense vs our defense is still silly whichever side you're taking. The Texans came out aggressive throwing deep with a scheme that didn't overload their rookie QB. We picked off a few and a few were converted into TDs. The Hawks also were aggressive due to trailing in the game and having problems with the run game, and so we scored plenty of TDs of our own with a single INT.

If the Texans had come out conservative we would have been conservative too, and it could have been a 13-10 game where everybody lauded the defense but complained about the offense.

We did score 40+ points in our previous home game.

It was just like the Steelers game a few years back.

I think when teams actually try to test our defense this aggressively, they'll actually be successful. In fact, this is true of any defense IMO, especially if you have Watson, Fuller, and Hopkins. Shoot, I think this could even work against Denver, but ultimately it results in both big plays and turnovers. High risk/reward. Watson, in combination with BoB's playcalling, push them closer to the reward side of that spectrum. Can't wait to see them play the Jags, I think that defense has a chance to absolutely lock down this Texans defense.

I believe it was 10 points off turnovers. The pick 6 and a field goal.

Even Sherman admitted that the O saved their bacon Sunday. ;)

That's right...I forgot about the Colts game. Colts defense is not like the Texans defense though. They put up 40+ on a team considered to have a top 5 defense.

I'll admit, I was pretty pissed at the defense yesterday for giving up all those yards and points.

But after calming down, I think we just have to hand it to Watson and probably the best WR tandem we'll see all year. Fuller and Hopkins are RIDICULOUS receivers...............and Watson is the real deal, he already looks like a 5 year vet with how composed he is.

Been watching football for 40 years or so. Sometimes a game just weirds out on its own and turns into this kind of shootout, even for conservative teams. I'm just glad we could win one this time.

Our great defense allowed over 500 yds of offense. Legion of Boom allowed 400+yds and 4 tds to a rookie.
Our defense is #16 in yds/game and #7 in pts/game AND sometimes cant get off the field. While our offense is #7 in yds/game and middle of the pack in scoring despite the conservative playcalling.

It's okay to admit the offense is better than you give them credit for.
