So I sat down with someone who knows how to break down film pretty good. I'm not a film expert but wanted to see the defensive run plays during the 9ers game. I saw all of them, every single one. My friend broke it down for me to where I understand it better. Overall our run D it that game was good. During that stacked boxes is where we gave up that 76 yarder and the 38 yarder. The light box which 5 players or less in the box, we had good run D. The biggest play given up during the light box sets was 14 yards. There was 7 light box sets against the run for 38 hards, not bad. The neutral box sets had 16 plays for 66 yards, again not bad. So, 104 yards for an average of 4.5 yards per run minus the big explosive runs. Watching the 2 big explosive runs, it was gap assignment issues by Cameron Young and Mike Morris on the 76 yard run. It's a correctable. Our run D isn't as bad as it looks. It's definitely fixable.
