I give major props to him on the final stand. If he doesn't get that solid hit on dude just behind the line, game is over and Hawks lose! :th2thumbs:

thought this was going to be a post about taking leave of the board due to negativity

Edit: I must have been seeing things, I thought the title was "Farewell" not "Farwell"

Of all the players I yelled at last night on the bench, Farwell was the only one that actually looked in the crowd. I think he was surprised someone was cheering for him..."who me"

And guess how many defensive snaps he played in the game? Yes, only THAT one.

Major props to Heath Farwell.

Farwell with the initial but I thought ET saved the TD.
That was not the same play. Earl's hit was the run before Farwells hit.

he was also the one who popped the ball out on the goal line stand vs denver in the preseason which led to browner's TD runback. heath is our goal line specialist.

It was the same play. Farwell stopped in initially, then Earl pulled him down on his second push. Great team effort

He was also in the game against Indy where we called our final timeout, I guess he's in our goal line defensive package. Also was the person who forced the fumble on the BB td return against the Broncos in preseason

Farwell is quietly having a solid year for us once again. His special teams play especially, but his goal line play is above reproach.

Cool of you to create a thread acknowledging Farwell's game saving heroics. Looked like he got rocked pretty hard for his effort. Way to take one for the team, Heath! Mahalos.

In the preseason game against the Broncos, it was Farwell that jarred the ball loose from Hillman at the 1/2 yard line (generous, more like 3 inches away). Browner scooped up the ball and took it the distance. 107 yard touchdown.

That earned Farwell a shot for the goal line stand in St. Louis. I believe he just may be substituted in for such situations again. He has earned his nitch. He has earned his stripes.

Heath Farwell: Goal line middle linebacker.

Man, he got jacked up but boy did he lay that RB out! If not for the Farwell hit, I think they would have scored because Earl didn't have a good angle on that one.

Absolutely. Farwell don't get that stop and we're a game behind 'Nawlins.

He epitomizes the very reason I never get too down on this team. You just know someone is going to step up and make a play. Even at our lowest, we're an exciting football team and (for the most part) fun to watch.

Yeah, it looked like he was dinged a bit, and at the end of the play one of our guys was sitting on him celebrating. GEEEZ!

I gotta add that I love watching #55 on special teams. He's always in on the action, always around to help a team mate up off the turf, always in the ear and face of an opponant not taking smack from anybody! Then he gets in on 1 or 2 plays in a game and talk about stepping up. Dude was Mr. Clutch last night!
