It's funny how people want to equate a SB performance not being up their normal standard as some kind of failure. As if they didn't do everything already to get the team to the damn SB.

That being said, comparing Sam with Patrick fricken Mahomes is just plain silly. Mahomes is an all-time great.

He's only doing the comparison to show how sill Farrell's take is. I see no, "Darnold is as good as Mahomes" take here.

Is it silly though? Darnold is 28 years old and just entering his prime years. 14 just took a little longer to get to where he is. Have we seen the best that Sam has to offer or will his game get better? He will never have the skill set of Mahomes but the dude has tools! All the while not actually being a tool!

Yes, it's silly. Mahomes is one of the BEST QB's we have ever seen, has 3 rings and 5 SB appearances.

Farrell is simply repeating the same ol' intellectually lazy narrative. "Sam is good, BUT," etc., etc..

Just another talking head, BUTTHEAD!

Sam's the first from his class to win a SB.

He's busted the ghosts and is now a proven winner. There are a lot of teams who'd sign Sam in a NY second. We are lucky to have him!

Hey, like in the SF playoff game, Sam didn't really need to do much. If he had gone off trying to pad his stats, it would have really jeopardized our chances to win. Sometimes the QB just needs to slip into game manager mode and ride the wave.

i think people forget Tom Brady was once considered a game manager. Now, will Darnold ever be Brady, most likely not. But i do think he will have some continued growth now that hes in the right system and under a competent organization. and even if he doesnt, if he repeats this season a couple more times i will be more than ecstatic. He certainly played better than Maye did all playoffs yet i dont hear Maye being talked about negatively. i know hes younger but take out the jets and panthers years where no one could have succeeded and they are essentially the same.

If it was not for Sam’s great performance against the Rams in the Championship game, the Seahawks would not be in the Superbowl

But once again people want to shit on him because he did not have good enough style points in the Superbowl

Man people are idiots

I'd say most of that is due to being drafted by K.C. I'm sure he'd have had FAR less success to date with at least 27 of the remaining other NFL teams if they had drafted him instead.

There is some truth to this. He also had a great defense that really helped him out as well.
That said Mahomes is a better QB.
